A Proposed Justice League Unlimited 2010 Release Schedule
July 30, 2009

First off, thanks to Jim Abell for inspiring this blog.  Sometimes all it takes is one sentence in a message board post and the idea springs to life.  It was far more difficult than I realized, but that’s because I set a limit of trying to complete it by my 4th cup of coffee.

This proposed list is directly based off of what type of product Mattel offered this year, which is why there are a few three-packs with two re-released figures in them and what seems to be a deluge of "Big Seven" inclusion.  I’m trying to duplicate what they’d actually DO if they went with the characters we wanted (and to GET what characters we wanted), so I basically copied the releases for the first 5 waves of 2009 and overlaid the new character combinations on each entry.  I tried to get as many of our poll characters into the assortments while being creative with re-releases and repeat character inclusion.

Great blog post Chip. Check out the forum for my suggestions.

By the way, the ball GL is Galius Zed and the grub one is Salakk.

  • bnjmnrlyr says:

No, the grub is not Salaak, he is the 4-armed executive assistant to the guardians.

Back to you Chip. Love the list, love the variants of the “Big Guns”. I would most likely buy every single item you have listed sight unseen if Mattel were to CONFIRM in no corporate double speak that this was indeed the release schedule for 2010.

    Now onto 2011, 12, 13 and beyond …

  • texgnome1 says:

Yeah, the grub is Larvox. I corrected myself in the forum. Just got the names backwards lol. So many dang GLs hahahaha.

  • mentalpower says:

Speechless. You left me speechless. There are some things that I would twick based on personal preferences, but I would be really happy if Mattel impelemted your proposed schedule.

  • Danny CantinaDan says:

Yup, looks great to me. Especially that 2010 SDCC exclusive!

  • xrmc20 says:

  • Daniel Pickett JuliusMarx says:

I’d buy everything on that list.

    Well done.

  • Jim Abell Jim Abell says:

Wow, Chip! You went above and beyond!

  • I don’t care for some of the single releases in the first few waves honestly, but everything else seems pretty good. Clever idea.

  • Erik superfriend says:

1st, A pretty good list. I will admit. Nicely hits a LOT of sectors of the JLU which we would like to see made.

I’d like to see the Matty 4 packs you’ve listed slightly tweaked.
    MattyCollector.com Exclusive 4-packs

    1. Batman Beyond (Blight, Shriek, Inque, Spellbinder) – 1st Quarter 2010

    2. Teen Titans GO! (Robin, Beast Boy, Starfire, Raven) – 2nd Quarter 2010

    3. Comic Book Inspirations (Blue Beetle II (Ted Kord), Animal Man, Spectre, Zauriel) – 3rd Quarter 2010

  • Mouther says:

Man, i will buy everything listed, even paying double or triple to get them in Bolivia.

    Hi Chip.

I like your lists, specially the 2011 waves and the “the call JLU” wave.
Hope somebody at MATTEL take note of your ideas and make something cool for all of us (the collectors).

    Thanks buddy.

  • darkknight30 says:

I would definitely buy every figure on that list! Providing of course, that could actually find them in a store to buy!

  • fernando says:

this wonder list is true or false? please, reply !!

    • j1h15233 says:

It’s not real, it’s just a suggested list of what Mattel could do.

      • Brainlock says:

yeah, he had me going for a minute, thinking I missed a few announcements from SDCC!

I’d maybe bump WaveRider for Firestorm (wasn’t he announced with Plas and Cyborg?), Brainiac re-release for Lexiac/Brainthor, so that opens up a spot later for…Star Sapphire re-release? or a newer Lantern?

also the Destroyer 3pk MUST be Lex in business suit re-release or updated with Q body!

        • j1h15233 says:

Firestorm is already a single. A brighter colored Mr. Miracle is the third member of that 3-pack I believe.

  • Jason says:

I would buy everything on that list! Mattel should read this.

    • texgnome1 says:

This was already posted on Matty’s Facebook page and got a pretty good response. So hopefully Mattel is listening. That list would be a dream come true.

  • kevfett says:

    Where do I pre-order these?

  • I know this is a dream list, but let’s not forget what has been announced, and that lame Eclipso 6-pack is on the way. Oh, I’m looking forward to ol’ Moon-face, but “eclipsed” repaints of the big seven? Sounds like a bad custom! You want a “possessed” JLU — where’s my Starro-headed figures??!!

  • Glenn Moss Glenn2000 says:

    I’d buy them all!

    Great blog, Chip!
