What
are custom figures, you ask? Well, basically it's just taking an existing
figure and adding various materials to it to transform it into a different
character, most often one that has not been released. I first started
making custom figures in 1989, with the Deathstroke figure shown below.
It took the figure over 2 years to dry, mainly because I cooked the sculpey
with a match and painted enamel straight onto the figure without priming
it. I've learned a lot since then, and I hope this page will be a help
to others. There are many fantastic resources for introductions into making custom figures, and links to folks' custom figure galleries. This page is mainly to highlight the folks who are making customs that fit in with the existing Super Powers figures, but I highly recommend checking out the work of other customizers. The figure to the right is a custom Black Vulcan on a computer generated Super Friends card. I'm also including a link below to point those who may want to try doing these in the right direction. These are most of the custom figures that I have made
into the Super Powers scale. Unfortunately, it's been many years since
I've made custom Super Powers, but who knows....
