During the first two waves of figures, mail-ins were common, with two promotions spanning both waves.
Common to both waves was an offer for a child-sized Superman Cape which was available for 3 proof of purchase seals and $1.50. The cape appears to be made of a cheap plastic and looked like a red garbage bag with a tie for your neck. The second offer included in both waves was inside the mini-comic that came with the figures. This was an offer to join the Super Powers Fan Club, the cost of which was $3.50. A Fan Club member would receive charter membership certificate, "an incredible color sticker", a newsletter (SHOWN BELOW), a deluxe patch, a color photo (signed by the heroes!), and DC comics subscriptions at a reduced rate. Only the first issue of the newsletter was sent, as far as I have been able to find out. If anyone knows differently, please contact me.

Exclusive to Wave One was a Steppenwolf figure for 5 proof of purchase seals which was packaged in a generic Kenner baggie. Also in wave one was the offer for a free Super Powers Collection Poster (pictured). The poster was the same illustration as the "color photo" that came with the fan club.
Exclusive to Wave Two was a Clark Kent figure (pictured above). This was apparently to be released on a card in the fourth wave, but as that wave was never produced it was only available for 5 proof of purchase seals.
Strangely, no mail-in offers were used as incentives for the third wave, either because of waning interest in the line, or Kenner already felt the line was established enough not to need any.		 offer1BB.jpg
