MANTIS
The Energy Vampire
ORIGIN
Leader of a force of armored insects, Mantis is considered the
second most powerful being on Apokolips. The first of course,
is Darkseid, the very one who gave Mantis his great power. Trying
time and time to take over Earth, Mantis is the perfect soldier,
reveling in neither the plotting that fills DeSaad's mind nor
the killing that occupies Kalibak. For this reason he is a most
dangerous opponent for the heroes of Earth.
FIGURE STATS
Mantis comes with no accessories, but will make a nifty energy
sucking motion with his hand pincers when his legs are squeezed
together. One interesting thing is that Mantis is one of the
only Super Powers figures with added articulation: his hands
twist at the wrists.
COMMENTS
Mantis looks very much like the original Parademons. He is an
unusual choice for a figure, considering all the denizens of
the New Gods Saga that went unmade. He does look nice with his
yellow and green insect visage, though.
