THE PENGUIN
The Fowl Criminal Mastermind

ORIGIN

Oswald Cobblepot grew up a shy young boy, tormented for his appearance and love of birds. Only with his feathered friends did he find solace from the outside world. After finally being pushed too far, Cobblepot snapped and seeked revenge against his tormentors using the birds as his means of retribution. Renaming himself the Penguin, Cobblepot turned to crime; often losing to the batman, despite his many trick umbrellas.

FIGURE STATS

The Penguin comes with a colorful umbrella. While later versions of this figure had umbrellas that could shoot things, this one had a retractable blade that popped out of the top. Not to mention it was far nicer looking than other versions. If you squeezed his legs together, however, he could deal a frightful blow with his beloved bumbershoot.

COMMENTS

The Penguin is one of the better known Batman villains, despite being a rather lame character. Many figures have been made, and the mold for this one turned up again for the DC Heroes line and repainted for the Batman Returns line.
