SAMURAI
The Japanese Warrior

ORIGIN

Japanese history professor Toshio Eto was teaching class one day when suddenly a mystical bolt of energy hit him. The bolt of energy had been sent from emissaries of the New Gods who were in need of super heroes. The strange energy enveloped Eto and released the latent energy in his body, transforming him into the Samurai. Using his newfound powers of the hurricane and wielding an energy sword, the Samurai mistakenly caused havoc until the transformation was explained to him and he decided to be a force for good.

FIGURE STATS

The Samurai comes with his lightning shaped yellow sword. By twisting his waist many times and then squeezing his arms, the Samurai's lower body spins around like a foolish wind.

COMMENTS

Created in the late 1970's for the Super Friends cartoon, but never appearing in the legitimate DC universe, the Samurai has never been all that popular a figure. On the one hand, he shares a similar unique power with Cyclotron and has a cloth tunic that is well made. On the other hand...who thought up this lame character?
