SUPERMAN
The Man of Steel

ORIGIN

Sent to earth from Krypton as an infant by his parents Jor-El and Lara, Kal-El was found and adopted by Jonathan and Martha Kent. Renamed Clark Kent, the boy grew up with good old midwestern values. Upon discovering his powers that were gained by absorbing the radiation from a yellow sun, Clark became Superman, defender of justice. Clark works in his real identity as a mild-mannered reporter for the Daily Planet.

FIGURE STATS

Superman has a cloth cape and a super action punch that is activated by squeezing his legs together. Clark Kent is dressed in a blue suit and has his trademark glasses. (To see Clark Kent go to the Mail-Ins page in the History section).

COMMENTS

Of course, Kenner had no choice in releasing the flagship character in DC's stable. Excellently sculpted, this figure since has turned up in Toy Biz's DC Superheroes line. Recently Kenner has started a whole line devoted to The Man of Steel, centering on his contemporary comic exploits. Currently plans exist for an animated series for fall 1996 and a tie-in toy line.
