Erik "Superfriend" Skov
"Gathered together from the four corners of the universe." Oh, wait, that's the show, not me. Erik "SuperFriend" Skov never actually got to appear on the show, although he did watch it every week. Erik spent 6 years working for Hasbro in Pawtucket, RI before leaving for a job that paid more (Why else would a collector leave the company that was making Star Wars, Transformers, and while I was there Batman). I used to post all over the net. These days I tend to hang my hat at AFI.

The Brave and Bold Plastic Man is another figure that uses the "build up, change up, team up" play pattern very well.  Plas comes in two versions, a basic and a deluxe.  At the point of this writing, I have only the basic.  I was going to wait to write this until I got the…

The newest DC event is Brightest Day.  The preview issue came out last week.  It looks good.  I’d like to see DC actually follow through with this basic idea.  Its been way too dark and gloomy at DC for a long time.  Seven or so years ago, Dan Didio came on board at DC Comics. …

I love the Batman Brave and Bold show.  The lighter tone of most episodes males me happy.  The fact that Cartoon Network has changed the showing frequency so each episode is only aired once makes me unhappy.  I’ve missed two episodes since this decision.  CartoonNetwork.com now has the Shazam episode up, so I was able…

There has been lots of talk about the peg holes in the Brave and Bold line.  Some of us like them.  Some do not.  In my opinion, the two Metal Men showcase the worst and best use of this feature in the line.     Your typical basic figure comes with one plug in accessory…

I recently found and bought a new JLU figure at Target (Firestorm).  I was thrilled.  But at the same time, it was obvious I had missed the other new figure that was released with it (Deadshot).  Over the past few days, its been nagging at me.  All the other JLU I’ve barely – or never –…

Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, the latest release direct to DVD from DC Comics and Warner Brothers came out last week.  Interviews with the cast and creators have been featured at numerous web sites leading up to the release.  Here are a few that covered the event: Newsarama ComicBookResources ComicsContinuum There was even a…

The Marvel Universe deserves more support here at AFi. I’m part of the problem.  I grew up on the Super-Friends.  Spider-man and his Amazing Friends just did not have the same impact.  But I always loved team books.  Here is one area where Dan Didio and I agree.  Buying a team book with a bunch…
JLU: Do we support this line or not?
To me, this idea of "supporting a line" is just strange.  I work too hard for my money to buy things I don’t like.  Sure, I should have canceled my subscription to the Green Arrow/Black Canary comic 6 months ago because it was awful.  But…

Here we are, on the eve of Toy Fair.  I know we’ve had topics similar to this, but they were pretty much limited to specific companies or lines.  I’d like to put here, in a place you do not need to register to post, an opportunity.  If you were at Toy Fair this week, in…

Well, I’ve been hoping this would come.  After the really cool trading card game they did with Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, I was hoping there would be one for the next movie.  And WB/DC Animation did not disappoint. JL Crisis Facebook App

I wish people who wrote virus programs used their time more productively.  I’ve been hit yet again on my older PC which is still running XP.  MacAfee, provided by my cable company, failed to stop it.  Last time, I went crazy, trying all kinds of things and ultimately reset it from the beginning.  I never got…
