I know, I know...you're asking what is this place, and why would we create this when we have a perfectly good forum already?

Basically, all of us here at AFi were saddened by the recent demise of Raving Toy Maniac's shift from an open threaded "bulletin board" style forum to one that isn't too much different that everyone else is using. So, for the weeks surrounding Toy Fair 2012, we decided to provide that same type of open experience for everyone to gather and discuss what news is hitting where, in an easy to use and view format.

The beauty of RTM's Buzz was that you could just glance at the board all at once and see what news had happened immediately. We felt such a destination is still needed during convention times. If this tryout is a success, we'll bring it back for other events.

As I sidenote, as one of the two people who created that original forum (EGM being the other) a part of me is very sad knowing the last vestige of the site that was spun off from the original USENET group Rec.Toys.Misc (get it?) is now gone forever.
