BLOGevoWicket-openAn action figure anthropologist’s work is never done. It was only two trips around the sun ago that we examined the evolutionary links between modern humans and our diminutive ancestor, the Ewok. We presented this theory through the example of one Ewok in particular: Wicket W. Warrick. But recently a more complete fossil record has been excavated.

Back when wave 18 of Mattel’s DC Universe Classics line was announced I was very excited.  I loved those old Super Friends shows.  My internet name, “superfriend” is taken from it.  And now we were getting figures.  The problem was that the price had recently gone up.  They were now 16$ each.

I had no interest in Capt Boomerang or Bronze Tiger, but I wanted the other 4.  In order to keep the cost down, I bought them on line for an average of 11$ each, shipping included.  But without the Apache Chief parts.  I figured I would pick them up later.

In a recent blog I started out talking about my hopes for the show and then channeled that into what I thought would work for a toy line.  But what I think would work is not necessarily what I want.  So lets get deep into that here my actual wants.  This what I hope to see.

Animation
1. I want Cartoon Network to make the effort to broadcast this show more than once a week.  While they are building up a stable of episodes, I want to see them run episodes of the previous Teen Titans Go show to help build the audience for new product.
2. I want the show itself to expand the cast beyond the 5 main heroes to include all the heroes who had major roles in the old show.  The main cast was always:
Robin,
Cyborg,
Beast Boy
Starfire,
Raven.
But other characters appeared frequently as well.
Speedy,
Aqualad,
Bumble Bee,
Mas,
Minos
eventually joined forces to become a 2nd branch of Teen Titans.
Kid Flash
also was a frequent guest.  I’d like to see all of them in the new show.

Over on another site, the question was raised, “What Next?”  What next indeed.  Most of the big name properties have been mined for sets over the past few years.  Batman, Spider-man, X-Men, Justice League, Avengers, Hulk, Superman, Captain America, Thor, Teen Titans, Iron Man, etc.  For DC, there were 3 areas mentioned over and over again.  Lanterns, New Gods, and the Legion of Super-Heroes.  The Legion got a good showing in the Superman set with 8 members.  I think the New Gods and the Legion could both be worked into the next Superman set (hey, Spider-man set 2 came out recently).  So here Here is my take on what a Green Lantern themed HeroClix set might look like.  Tell me what you think.
