As much as I have looked forward to the release of this DC animated production, the sad and unfortunate news of Dwayne McDuffie’s passing is just heartbreaking. Over the last 12 years, Dwayne’s contributions to the development of DC’s Universe of animation certainly renewed my faith in American animation interpreting faithful representations of comic classics.

I appreciate the review Cesar, I have heard some conflicting reviews of the movie from some of the users on CBM, and I usually have similar views to what they have. It is nice to read a review from a more professional source, rather than some normal guy/girl on a forum.
I haven’t read the comic series, but I am familiar with the story. I am going to buy it whether it is good or not, because I really like the films that DC has been putting out. It has been especially nice to be able to share them with my family members who otherwise wouldn’t be exposed to the great stories and characters from the DC universe.

You could also splurge for the outstanding Absolute Edition that came out a few months ago if you want something more permanent. It might still be available for a discount on Amazon or your local bookstore. Highly recommend it and the “special features” are great.

Batman Year One, huh? Bummer. It’s a great story, but I’m getting sick of Batman DTV’s. Let’s show Justice League, Teen Titans, Wonder Woman, FLASH, and especially AQUAMAN some more love DC.

So I just read the first two issues of the run over my lunch break and WOW! I’m really enjoying them so far and having to leave off with issue 2 and that cliffhanger is killing me haha. Very excited for this movie now.

You know I’ll be there. Don’t forget to check out what the various retailers are offering for specials related to this. Often Target, Walmart, Best Buy have special editions which are slightly different. And of course, Best Buy often puts related WB/DC DVDs on sale to coincide with the new release.

Great review man! Not only am I really excited for this movie now, but I’ll also be trying to hunt down the comics today. I’m pretty sure they’re on the digital store.
