Spoiler Alert! This preview may contain spoilers from the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! You have been warned!

The other large vehicle (Besides the Cargo Truck) in the Indiana Jones line is the Russian Jungle Cutter which is used in the movie to clear-cut the Amazon and menace our heroes. You can see it explode briefly in the latest tv trailer of the film.

The majority of the Cutter’s action features lie up front – twin blades twirl as the vehicle is moved forward and the shovel can be fired off like some bizarre projectile. Sadly, those cool silver spiked grinders do not rotate. The cutter also has footpegs for two characters to ride on top.

I don’t know if an action sequence like the one below exists in the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but it sure would make for and exciting scene!

My favorite thing about the entire vehicle is the plastic flap that covers one half of the driver’s cockpit (which is also removable) – I just think the use of the "mixed media" (a softer, cloth like plastic) is a nifty idea! I just wish figures would sit better in the driver’s chair. Maybe the Russian Solider (which I don’t have) does but the Russian Colonel sure doesn’t.

Like the Cargo Truck, the Jungle Cutter comes with packaging that can be folded out into a diorama of the jungle. Whoever did these paintings at Hasbro did a nice job.

It’s not that the Jungle Cutter is a bad vehicle – it’s nicely sculpted, the details like the Russian lettering and spattered mud are great and the action features are pretty cool – it’s just that I haven’t seen it in action yet, so I have no real emotional attachment to it like I do with the Cargo Truck.

If you like vehicles then I recommend it. If not, them I don’t think you’re missing much by skipping it.
