For today’s Indiana Jones sneak preview, we take a look at a vehicle from Raiders of the Lost Ark that serves as the center piece to one of the greatest scenes in modern cinema: the Cargo Truck.
Out of the three vehicles in the first wave of releases, the Cargo Truck sports the most action features. It fits 2 figures in the cab (with opening doors)…
…four sneaky soliders can hang from the sides (with the help of some very cleverly sculpted hand-holds)…
… six soldiers can guard the ark in the back. Unfortunately, there’s not really room for all six figures and the ark, but you get the idea. The canopy is also removable.
… and there’s even room for one hapless archeologist (or German soldier) to hang off the front grill. Press the hood ornament to send the victim to his doom beneath the truck’s six wheels!
If that wasn’t enough, Indy can be dragged behind the truck with the help of his trusty bull-whip! A little lever on the back can be used to move the whip back and forth for more realistic dragging action.
All the vehicles come with a nifty feature – the packaging unfolds into a nifty diorama which can be used to display your Cargo Truck (though a little narrow) – Hasbro has really pulled out all the stops with this vehicle. It’s a great start to what is already shaping up to be a great toy line!
