I’ll bet I’m not the only one with fond memories of Underoos. I can’t quite recall which specific sets I had save for this photo of my brother, sister and I decked out for Halloween in Underoo enabled costumes. No, my sister is Wonder Woman. I’m Superman.
Anyway, my mom has never accepted that I’ve grown up (probably because I haven’t given her any reason to) and she still likes to "support my hobby" when she gets me a gift. Its not easy to buy for us collectors but she really nailed it with these suckers . . .
Even if they were still making Underoos I’m sure I’d have trouble finding my size. But leave it to mom to find these fantastic pajama bottoms:
They immediately reminded me of the superhero undergarments I loved as a kid. Now, I know what you’re thinking: "Pajamas? Hell, I’d wear those to work!" The thought crossed my mind. I mean, in the immortal words of Rex Kwon Do: "Do you think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I’m wearin’ these badboys?"

Wait folks, there’s more. Last summer I posted a quick blog about some of my favorite geek tee shirts. Well I was completely bowled over when I laid eyes on this next gift. Its was one of those things that I just had to stare at in disbelief for a minute because it was so perfect. As you may have assumed, the cantina scene from Star Wars is bedrock for me. In fact, since I’ve been surfing the webbernet my online moniker has been CantinaDan. Needless-to-say this "Cantina Band" tee shirt has rocketed to number one on my favorites list.
High five, ma!
Just so that you know, that pajama pattern is available on boxers, too — not that we’ll need a photo update to this…
Dan,
You beat me to it. I too got a pair of these “Men’s Sleep Pants” for Christmas, featuring the “Greatest Icons in Comic Book History.” But I don’t have your cool intro story.
Just FYI, Underoos still exist. But you can only get them at Wal-Mart.
How do I know? I work at the clandestine location that designs them. But you’re correct-they only come in kid’s sizes.
I don’t have a cool story either, but I got the PJs last summer too. Ah, the Justice League.
I thought about buying those sleep pants, but they had too much Aquaman and not enough Green Lantern.
As per usual your comments are better than the blog. You have me laughing out loud. Who is this “Captain Underpants?!”
Awesome dude, Your mom rocks! I got the same pants over the summer, (my mom got them for me too.) lol
D.
Oh and I that Cantina Band Pic ROCKS!!!
Where can I get these?
Not sure about the PJs but the shirt came from a catalog called “ThinkGeek”.

LOTS of cool stuff.
I don’t know if you can find them at other places, but I picked up mine at Walmart in the men’s clothing section.
Anything with Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez’ DC Heroes on it has got to rock!
I miss the old Underoos.
