I second the request for Red Tornado. I blame my inexplicable love for this seemingly insignificant character entirely on his action figure (which is still in my parents' basement). Also, can you pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease give us more pictures?

I always knew who the "Superfriends" were when I was growing up, I loved the show completely...but they never had toys to go with the cartoon. SO I fell in love with SUper Powers when they were released. I will never be able to explain my complete shock and thrill of finding wave 2 just hanging on the pegs in a SEARS one day. Having not read comics, I had NO ideas who Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Dr Fate, Red Tornado or any of these "New Gods" were....but I can honestly say that it was my catapult into comics. That second wave of figures absolutely FLOORED me in a way that was entirely new to me, they seemed so cutting edge and original even though they were old characters. For months and months whenever I went into the mall I would run from Sears to Woolworths to Circus World in the hopes of seeing all these new characters...what a thrill for me.

I said this elsewhere, but I have to agree. That Martian Manhunter still stands up today as a great figure. That, Steppenwolf, and Samurai were my favorites. Heck, I must have gone through three different MMs playing with them lol. *snap* OOPS! :D

Another fun romp down memory lane Chip. Thanks for taking the plunge.

If I might request that you get to #9 "Disco Jive" Red Tornado sometime in the near future, I would surely laugh.

I loved the second wave of this line. I think it's the best! The firt wave was excellent, especially since they actually released all the heavy hitters. The second wave knocked me out of my socks. I think Dr. Fate is my favorite out of the whole line, but Martian Manhunter and Red Tornado are close seconds.
The Super Powers line was especially excellent in the the figures were colorful. While I'm in love with JLU, the colors are dulled, muted, darker, or just plain matted... With Super Powers they are extremely visually appealing. The sculpts and details hold up today, and they rarely if at all re-used parts.
