They’ll let anyone write a blog these days, won’t they?
So, it’s been in the works for a while, but I’ve finally got very own blog to do with as I please. Not that I couldn’t have started my own blog elsewhere, it’s just that I’m lazy, so I didn’t.
Admittedly, I’ve had this blog ready to go for a while, but have had difficulty figuring out what to blog about. That, coupled with the aforementioned laziness, resulted in me taking forever to actually write something. (My blog was supposed to launch back during AFI’s recent anniversary bash this year. My apologies to the AFI staff. Ahem.)
So who is the person known as “Ham Salad?” I won’t bore you with the details, but I do have a bio over here. It’s been up for a while. There’ll even be a picture eventually, but for now you’ll have to settle for a little red X.
Even though I collect a lot of toys, I don’t talk about them quite as much as I’d like to. I have a tendency to lurk on message boards, even those where I am fairly active. I’ll often start typing a response, then have second thoughts and give up altogether.
I’m no better in person. In fact, you might say I’m shy. I can’t say how many times I’ve been in the same room with Julius and haven’t introduced myself. Heck, I sat behind him at the “Doctor Who” panel at Comic-Con last week, but still didn’t say anything. Sigh. I hope this blog will get me to come out of my shell a little more. (At least in writing.)
So what do you have to look forward to? Pictures, pictures, a little text, and more pictures. I’ll leave you with a tease of my next blog…

Welcome to the AFi Blog!
Not sure why you have difficulty talking to Julius, you had no trouble introducing yourself to me at SDCC in 2006.
Oh, it’s not Julius, he was just an example. It’s people in general.
You were a fluke. Sometimes I just go all out like that.
Ham Salad, I am the same way, sometimes I can be extremely shy, then some other time I can just talk someone’s ear off, (I think it just depends on peoples energy or personality,) anyways I look foward to your blog good sir,
D.
Looking forward to reading some of your stuff and I know the pictures will be great to see!
Can’t wait to see those pics! Looking forward to it.
I saw you at the pornography store last week and you didn’t even introduce yourself THEN. Damn you.
Welcome to the Men of Action!
Peace,
Chip
this post is riddled with double entendre.
@ I’ll often start typing a response, then have second thoughts and give up altogether.
Oh, man, I do that all the time, too. Welcome to the blogosphere!
Ah. I’m so disapointed we didn’t get to meet each other. Especaily since we were sitting next to each other. I saw in one of the Mattel threads today that you were at SDCC this year and I thought “That’s a shame. I would have like to have met him.”… now to find out we were in the same room!
Welcome to the Men of Action Ham. I’m glad to have you on board and look forward to your contributions.
I love ham salad.
Pornography store.. and “Men of Action” in the same breath kind of makes my left eye twitch.
:/
Ham, I’ve enjoyed your posts over at the Buzz and I’m glad you’re blogging here at AFI now. Welcome to the party, bro.
Yeah, seriously, I’m super bummed you didn’t let us know you were there. Most people I know in the community are because they approached me and overcame my natural curmudgeon inclinations.
And I’m only the better for it.
Although SDCC is such a crazy nightmare that I feel that people probably think I’m blowing them off, but I never seem to have time to talk to ANYONE. Heck, Julius and I barely see each other during the con! But to anyone who sees us at a con, please do introduce yourself! Ryan, Jeff, Chip, Mike, and Dan are pretty much all part of this because of the connections we made meeting in person.
