Last week I blogged about my 10 Most Wanted figures for Hasbro’s super-cool new Marvel Universe line. This week I wanted to do the same for one of my other favorite toy lines: Mattel’s DC Universe: Infinite Heroes.
Most AFI readers know that I’ve been championing this line since it first debuted at the 2008 Toy Fair. A 3-3/4" DC line has long been a dream of mine, and I’ve been thrilled that DC finally brought that dream to toy shelves.
So, without further ado, my Top 10 Most Wanted Infinite Heroes figures (at least as of this writing):
1. Darkseid – my favorite DC villain
2. Doomsday – rumored to be in an upcoming Wal-Mart 6 pack
3. Red Robin – he’s getting his own series and playing a big role in post-Batman RIP storylines
4. Aquaman – my JLA will be forever incomplete without him. Classic look, please.
5. Bane – always dug the Knightfall storyline back in the day, which leads me to:
6. AzBats – cool looking armor
7. Eclipso – classic DC villain
8. Metamorpho – always had a soft spot for Rex Mason…
9. Steel – one of the best things to come out of the Death of Superman storyline
10. AMBUSH BUG! ’nuff said!
Of course, there’s tons more that I want to see in the line. We need a bunch of Green Lanterns (especially the easy ones that just need a new noggin like Abin Sur, Tomar Re, etc), and Sinestro in his Sinestro Corps uniform. The Legion needs some IH love, too. Not to mention Doom Patrol. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg…
So, who do you want to see?
I only have three most wanted for DCIH.
Sculpting! Articulation! Quality Control!
Or subsequently a big price reduction.
Please try to keep this on topic to the characters. This line has it’s detractors, but it also has it’s fans. Please allow the fans this opportunity to respond.
What that guy said.
I think there are some omissions / holdouts being saved to ensure the line continues. Some are missing from both DCIH and DCUC.
Martian Manhunter
Plastic Man
Changling / Beast Boy
Huntress
Martian Manhunter is in the assortment due in June. We just haven’t seen any pics of him yet!
I actually hope they wait a bit on my most wanted figs as they are figuring out how to add in the articulation, but Darkseid, Aquaman, and a bunch of Green Lanterns are at the top of my list too. This could be a great line to finally get a bunch of the odd sized GL’s. When I look at all the different aliens at this scale for Star Wars I cross my fingers that DCIH will at some point make a bunch of them. I’d like to see the Legion of Super Pets and stuff like that here too (I don’t think we’re getting them for DCUC, JLU is fighting to stay alive, so this is the line)
Those would all be cool characters to see. The problem for me is that I’ve never seen any figures except for what I believe is the first wave of this line. These toys do not sell here at all. I wish I would have at least bought Batman when I saw him to see if I really like them or not.
I really need a spoiler in this line up— it shame the only love Steph has gotten is a Kubrick– and she was the ultra chase in that line as well.
More JSA members, especially classic Golden Age versions of Hourman, Dr. Fate (Kent Nelson), Dr. Mid-Nite, Green Lantern (Alan Scott), The Atom (Al Pratt), Sandman (gas mask version), Mr. Terrific, Starman, and Hawkman.
I also would love to see the 70′s/80′s Legion: Wildfire, Dawnstar, Blok, Tyroc, Tellus, plus veteran members such as Brainiac Five and Sun Boy.
METAL MEN!
‘Nuff said.
Peace,
Chip
Let me see let’s go with:
1. Catman
2. Green Lantern (Alan Scott)
3. Liberty Belle
4. Darkseid
5. Parademon
6. Hawkgirl (Kendra Saunders)
7. Ragdoll
8. Bane
9. Deadshot ( I refuse to call the one in the Gotham 3-pack Deadshot!)
10.Scandal Savage
1. Renee Montoya Question with Gotham Central Renee Montoya as a chase
2. Secret Six pack (Catman, Deadshot, Scandal Savage, Ragdoll, Parademon, Knockout)
3. Oracle (w/wheelchair)
4. Blue Beetle modern & original (chase) — can’t remember if they’ve got this figure in the line up
5. Katana
6. Harvey Bullock
7. Bane
8. Brother Blood (original)
9. that big egg villian whose name I can never remember
10. Manhunter (Kate Spencer)
1 – Green Lantern Alan Scott
2 – Hawkgirl MA
3 – Mr Terrific MA
4 – Aquaman Arthur
5 – Martian Manhunter
6 – Beast Boy
7 – Red Robin
8 – Magog
9 – J Thunder and Thunderbolt MA
10 – Stargirl MA
These guys would “complete” (I want to get the core members) my JLA, JSA and Titans groups
I just finished photographing some my Infinite Heroes for a website and for the most part, they are beautiful toys. A few of them (Joker, Superman) make it look like Mattel isn’t trying, but the smooth body sculpt really works on a few of the figures (Black Lightning).
Since they’re saving so much money with the economy sculpting, I’d like to see a few playsets (like the Dark Knight sets in the same scale) or maybe a comic-style Batmobile.
As for figures, I’d like to see:
1) Martian Manhunter
2) Non-humanoid Green Lanterns
3) modern Blue Beetle
4) Catman
5) Booster Gold
6) Nemesis
7) Deathstroke
How about a JSA pack, Stargirl, Hourman, Liberty Belle, Cyclone, Dr. Mid-Nite, Mr. Terrific. I’d hope they put out Golden Age Green Lantern Alan Scott. There are others I like to see from JSA, such as Starman, Sand, Obsidian, Wildcat’s son, JJ Thunder w/Thunder, Damage, and Atom Smasher.
Revision of list. I see potential here. While I have a ton of JLU, there are some subsets of the DCU which are not well represented by the line. One of those is the Titans / Teen Titans / Young Justice. Since IH is slightly smaller than JLU, I could see picking up the Titans characters in this line.
.
In IH, we have Nightwing, Flash III, Starfire, Raven, modern Wonder Girl, Supergirl. Cyborg and Arsenal/Red Arrow are supposedly coming. That leaves us:
.
Beast Boy / Changling
Donna Troy
Tempest
Jericho
Kyle Rayner Green Lantern
.
Robin
Superboy
Impulse / Kid Flash
Blue Beetle
Static
.
That would make a nice set of DC Teen Heroes.
I’ll make that my current want list for this line.
