Diamond Select Toys has a new line of Minimates that’s just starting to hit TRUs right now called Minimates MAX (Mobile Action Xtreme). Here’s the description of the line from the back of the packaging:

"Never before has a team of heroes like this been assembled! There’s no situation that’s beyond their resources. You can use any mix of parts from any of the members to create your own team, use the gear you want to use and imagine any situation you can for the team to solve. For the first time ever, you can create your own mission as well as team members."

I’ll be honest, I haven’t been following the development of this line much. I remember hearing about it awhile back. But, really hadn’t given it much thought until seeing it on the shelves at my local TRU. But, what I saw was pretty darn cool!

There were a series of blister carded two packs and a couple vehicles. I saw some packs of Firefighters, Law Enforcement and Special Ops characters. The figures and vehicles look cool in their own right, but they also serve another function for collectors – civilians!

Collectors have been asking for civilian type characters for years for various lines…and now the single most expansion cross-over line of all, Minimates, gets firemen, police, soldiers and who knows what else Diamond Select is cooking up in their Top Secret Minimates laboratory! Now, elite squads of civil servants can rush to the scene of the latest battle raging between the Avengers and the Masters of Evil!

The two packs come packed with tons of awesome gear for the figures.  Helmets, guns, equipment…it’s all here and ready to be popped on and off and shared amongst your Minimate collection. Heck, imagine decking Susan (from Desperately Seeking Susan) in Firefighter gear, or giving some military equipment to Spider-Man. The sky’s the limit with these.

The grey Stealth Jet is available at Toys R Us, but I believe the red variant pictured below is exclusive to the specialty market.
