Early Friday morning I’ll be making the 3 hour trek to Indianapolis, IN for Gen Con, the Best Four Days in Gaming! Gen Con is THE big show when it comes to gaming conventions, and is the place where many companies release their big products. This year is no exception. This week, as I look towards the big con I’ll be sharing some of the new releases that have got me jazzed.

One game I am very excited about is Dust Tactics from Fantasy Flight Games. Now, some of you may be familiar with the Dust IP. It is the brainchild of the amazingly talented Paolo Parente, and has been around for awhile as comics, as well as models and some high end 1/6 scale action figures.

In the world of Dust an alien spacecraft was discovered by the Nazis in 1938. Nazi scientists reversed engineered the alien technology and adapted it to their own war machines, changing the world forever. The Allies managed to steal this tech from the Axis powers and WWII rages on with lumbering mech tanks and other amazing weaponry.

A few years back FFG released Dust: The Boardgame which had something of a RISK flavor to it.

But, now, Dust is ready to break out in a full-on tactical boardgame. Plus there will be additional rules available that takes the game off the board, so to speak, and makes it playable as a standard tabletop miniatures game. It looks awesome. Check out this video to get a good flavor of the game.

Dust Tactics ain’t cheap. This bad boy is clocking in at $99.00. But, as with most products from Fantasy Flight Games, you are getting your money’s worth in the box. Plus, there are already several expansions planned to increase the forces on either side, not to mention introducing the alien Vrill to the tabletop.
