Doctor Who returns (at last) to American television tonight (Sci Fi Channel, 8:30pm) with the US broadcast premiere of the Voyage of the Damned (2007 Christmas Special).
Series 4 officially begins on the following Friday. This year we are only a few weeks behind the original UK airdates, which is awesome.
I love this series. Far more than I ever expected.
I used to watch some of the Tom Baker and Peter Davison-era episodes on PBS back in the 80s. But they aired sporatically in my market so the show was difficult to follow. I followed the continuing adventures of the Doctor via novels and the occassional comic book. I developed quite a fondness for the quirky Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey.
So, when the series was relaunched a few years back and began airing on Sci Fi here, I was very excited. My wife even agreed to watch it with me, and we were both hooked on this latest incarnation of the Doctor and have followed the new series religiously every since.
If you have been watching, tonight’s a great opportunity to jump aboard the TARDIS and join the Doctor in his latest adventures.
You can catch up on the previous seasons on DVD, and BBC America airs ealier episodes as well.
I can’t wait! I’ve already seen tonights episode (Ballikafalata!!!!)
I’m hooked too. Last season, especally the last 6 episode were SO good!
I hope his new companion grows on me cuz I wasn’t a fan from the Runnaway Bride Christmas Special.
NERDSSSSSSSS!!!!
Ha! The old man got a credit card!
That warms my heart.
