Recently in an exchange on a forum, it came out that my air hockey table is right now covered with HeroClix. The quick witted response was "Wow, you came up with a way to make them really fly." Then it hit me. They really have taken over the whole air hockey table. These 1-1/4" based things. The whole thing.
HeroClix sets have 60 basic pieces of different rarities. The first 48 are fairly easy to get. The other 12 are "super-rare". My goal is to acquire all 48 common, uncommon, and rare pieces for each set since they added cards. You might be able to see the 5 sets in groups below. The five sets are called: Avengers, Justice League, Mutants and Monsters (Xmen & Hulk), Crisis (Titans & DC crossover events), and Secret Invasion. The missing DC characters are on display elsewhere in the house. The Marvel pieces I still have yet to acquire. Its still pretty cool to have them all over the hockey table.

Somewhere in the middle of this, I forgot why I was writing this. it was to show the sheer number and variety of the characters available, at very little cost (which is why I skipped the super-rares). Maybe a better way is to list them along with the picture. They are actually in order on the table. The spaces are either on display in other parts of my house or I do not own them yet.

I’m just trying to cross promote a little here.
Show the folks at AFI what is so great about the collectable side of the game we both love.
Very neat place to store your clix. Kinda makes me wish I had an air-hockey table myself…
Funny thing about the air hockey table itself. When we first got it, it sat in the middle of the livign room while we were trying to figure out what to do with it. My kids and I used it every day.
We moved it out of the way, into a spot not really used for much of anything. Use of it here died completely. Occasionally I’ll clear it off if we have company coming, but in general, it just serves as elevated storage.
The other thing is that the guy who I got it from said to us he was getting rid of it for exactly that reason, no one in his household played it and it was just taking up space.
