I’ve been playing HeroClix for years. Almost as long as the game has been out, but I cannot claim to have started at the beginning. I thinks its been going for 6 years now. A few years back, the founder sold WizKids, the maker of HeroClix to Topps, the guys who make cards for sports teams and movies. A few months ago, we found out that Topps has decided to close WizKids. And since then, players and collectors of WizKids have been on pins and needles, wondering if the game would continue in some form. Here are two recent articles from two groups working on just that.

Hi all!
Alright, web posting is back up and online.
Yesterday and today were solid days, progress-wise. Though the weather outside is nasty in Seattle (and the city is woefully unprepared as usual), we had some great conference calls, and I’m hopeful that the HeroClix transaction will speed along nicely (hopefully with you and us behind it). Pinata’s incorporation officially goes through on January 1 (so we don’t have to pay an extra month of taxes), and we have some cool stock certificates that look terribly official.
As I mentioned, the weather here, well, sucks. Roads are closing, schools have declared snow days, and many businesses have closed through the holidays. When Seattle gets the slightest amount of snow, the city grinds to a halt. There are very few snow trucks, ice trucks, or drivers capable of driving in snow in the state. Being from Illinois, it doesn’t bother me a great deal, but I do admit that the sharp inclines on the roads make life interesting.
Due to the nasty weather, it’s going to be at least one more day before the two remaining ‘thank you’ packages ship. I’ll do my best to make sure that they make it out before I leave for 10 days to visit family in Illinois.

I love heroclix, but if we haven’t heard anything about this by NYCC or Toy Fair, then the game is sunk.
I know you do. I’ve followed your rumor lists at http://www.HcRealms.com for years. And I agree, it would be great to hear and see some product in Feb at at least one of these events.
