Never.  Never did I expect to see these in plastic.  No way.  That is why their inclusion in the slide show during Mattel’s presentation on Saturday blew me away.  I’ve been a big fan of this line since it began, but this, this just shows me how much they get it.

I worked to get Capt Atom and Question in the line.  Batman Beyond, Old Bruce, and Warhawk I’d asked for and they came.  Cheetah with new legs.  Expanding the line to Ultra Man and Super Woman.  Atomic Skull and Shadow Thief.  Vibe and Deadman.  But this was so unexpected.  So far from the expected that I am re evaluating all my complaints about character packout in JLU.  I was bummed that Capt Atom, Question, and Galetea all came with two existing characters.  Bummed again that Blackhawk would require me to do it again.  But if you average it out, if you balance them, thinking about 3 packs with 3 new characters, like the Batman Beyond set, I think it might come out that we are getting an average of 2 new for each existing.  In any event, 3 packs such as this to offset 3 packs with just one new character.  So much that I am going to go buy one of those Galetea packs the next time I go out.  Mr. Miracle, Cyborg, & Plastic Man is a tribute to wave 3 of the Super Powers line, but this one was even better.  When these were announced, I almost could not believe it.  The applause were instantaneous.

Black Vulcan, Samurai, and Apache Chief.

For an old fan of the Super-Friends, there was no better gift Mattel could have given me, this was just awesome.
