I missed this week”s episode of Young Justice, but two weeks ago, they ran one that blew my mind.
Why? Because of all the characters that made an appearance in the episode “Revelaqtion”. I think at this point, enough time has passed that I can write this without spoilers.
#1. The Secret Society of Super Villains. Batman gives the team of villains which announce themselves this classic name. 7 new villians who have not previously appeared on the show.

#2. The entire JLA is needed to be seen fighting the plant creatures this group has created so that the Young Justice team can complete their covert mission. And do we get to see the entire JLA. While some only get a second or two, Zatara gets a significant appearance. We see all 16 of the members shown as the JLA at last years NYCC preview. And then the cameos start. Blue Devil. Plastic Man. Red Arrow. Green Lantern Guy Gardner. A woman I could not identify. And then Icon. My fan brain exploded. In the space of less than 1 minute of show I was shown that the universe of the Young Justice show included characters I did not know AND the Milestone universe. Sure, the Milestone universe was merged with DC a few years back, but the characters have not been used very much since the initial introduction. Icon – for those who do not know – is the Superman of the Milestone universe. After some research, the unknown woman is Rocket, also from Milestone.

#3. We get to see the whole Young Justice team in action. Some of the recent episodes have featured one or two characters in lead roles. Here we got to see all 6 members of the team. Superboy’s wolf. And let’s not forget Dr. Fate makes a surprise appearance.
#4. With the SSoSV taking the heat not only for this, but for every major event since the show started, the villain group calling itself “The Light” reveals its membership.

SSoSV
Joker, Wotan, Poison Ivy, Black Adam, Ultra Humanite, Atomic Skull and Count Vertigo (7)
JLA
Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern Hal Jordan, Green Lantern John Stewart, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Martian Manhunter, Zatara, Captain Atom, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Shazam (15 – Red Tornado was missing at the time of this episode).
Cameos
Red Arrow, Blue Devil, Plastic Man, Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Rocket, Icon (6).
Young Justice
Robin, Kid Flash, Superboy, Aqualad, Miss Martian, Artemis, the wolf (7)
The Light
Lex Luthor, Ras Al Ghul, Vandal Savage, Queen Bee, Ocean Master, Klarion the Witch boy, the Brain (7).
A total of 7 + 15 + 6 + 7 + 7 = 42 different characters in one episode. I cannot wait for them to try to top this.

Regarding Icon and Rocket, that high-pitched noise you heard was me SQUEEing from across the country.
+1
43, you left Dr. Fate out of your recap count. This was also the first appearance of Vandal Savage, as well, right? And the first time for Queen Bee to actually be seen?
You didn’t miss a YJ ep this week. It wasn’t on. A new Thundercats aired.
have to give the young justice creators props for given not only did we get over 43 characters with dr. fate included but also finaly the milestone characters are getting some exposure. can not wait to see how the young justice crew tops this episode.besides winding up with a crisis episode and the entire animated dc universe shown.
The last episode was also really well done… regarding Red Tornado. Great episode.
The only thing I didn’t like about the last episode was the voice acting of Joker. Brent Spiner really didn’t do it for me. Everything else… awesome.
I had the damnedest time trying to figure who the villain dressed like Tom Turbine was, until someone on the show called him Atomic Skull.
Such as terrible design for a villain with unique choices for his look.
I liked this episode, but not as much as I’ve liked others. For me at least, having lots of cameos doesn’t necessarily make it a good episode. Plus, it kinda forced some things (and exposed others.) For instance… Batman pulls Captain Marvel from the YJ team because “all of the Justice League must be seen together”. Really? Twenty-one Heroes show up to fight Plants and you think someone is going to notice (or care) that Captain Marvel wasn’t seen? No wonder there’s a rumor that one of these kids will die. I mean, not only does Bats like to pit kids against some of the JLA’s greatest Rogues; but he also removes their back-up in the process.
.
Which brings me to another pet peeve. Instant Power-up. Or at least that’s how I perceive it. But it’s there. Each episode has a “date stamp”. So in the spand of a couple of months, we have seen Superboy go from “barely being able to pull a bus from the ledge of a bridge” to being able to go “tit-for-tat” with Black Adam.
.
Look, I enjoy watching the DC powerhouses show up. I just find it somewhat “odd” that the League/Batman would have a problem with Young Justice going after T.O. Morrow (last Episode); but felt it was okay to send the kids after Black Adam, the Ultra-Humanite, Joker and Wotan (who had just show their faces on National TV).
.
Next Week on Young Justice: The League’s energies get depleted after fighting Signal-Man, so when Darkseid shows up… it’s up to Young Justice to fight him. Don’t miss it!
That might’ve been the worst rendition of the Joker ever.
its captain marvel in this universe, sorry for the hate but its true!
