My grandmother's family has some MoMo equivalent stories, but the farthest east they ever lived was in in Moberly (due north of Columbia) and there stories were all from well before the 70s 'scare' to boot.

Looking forward to reading more!

Brainlock - I was just in Missouri over the weekend, in Marthasville, eating ice cream at the Caboose. Hot as hell. I should have looked you up, but we were busy with family the whole time. My family is from Illinois originally, and my sister in in Columbia now.

Shellhead - we actually considered the pig idea, but there was no way. It was such a deep, throaty noise, not a squeal. It just seemed too big for even a smaller animal like a mountain lion. It's tough to explain, without hearing it...

I know it seems so far-fetched, but I wish I could have been able to record it for others to hear...It was pretty traumatizing.

Very gripping story. Maybe a wounded pig from the nearby farm? Got stuck or cut on something? Pigs can really let loose when they're pissed.

Endor? Shit, it looks like Grandma's back ten, growing up. Most of our 30-odd acres were cleared for pasture, except for the parcel across the road dad sold to "the other Mark". (One Mark bought north end parcel, another Mark bought west side across road.)
