Unique Star Trek Items Join One-of-a-Kind Product From Dexter® and The Twilight Zone


NEW YORK, NY – July 9, 2012– CBS Consumer Products hits warp speed at Comic-Con International 2012 with exclusive products and giveaways based on popular television series including Star Trek, Dexter and The Twilight Zone. Both hardcore and casual fans will find something to love and cherish in the collection of merchandise amassed for San Diego’s premiere entertainment event, including one-of-a-kind products celebrating Star Trek: The Next Generation’s 25th Anniversary. CBS will be located in Booth #4129.

A rundown of product highlights and promotional items includes:

STAR TREK

CBS (Booth #4129):
The CBS booth will once again be busy this year, with tons of great exclusive products and giveaways. First, to commemorate the Starship Enterprise XX and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Star Trek: The Next Generation, StarTrek.com will be giving away 1,701 copies of a limited edition The Next Generation poster. Throughout the event, StarTrek.com will have a number of special Star Trek giveaways include beach towels, watches, cycling jerseys, flasks, and more.

Her Universe (Booth 2913-F):
On July 11, with a limited debut, CBS will roll out the Star Trek by Her Universe apparel line of fashion tops and hoodies only at Comic Con or www.HerUniverse.com <http://www.HerUniverse.com/> , The collection will feature a unique Star Trek logo, which will only appear on merchandise from the Her Universe collection – the specially designed Star Trek line for women. Two of the tops will be available for purchase at the Her Universe booth!

ANOVOS (Booth #2913-E):
Anovos Productions will debut the Star Trek: Voyager Jumpsuit, Star Trek: The Next Generation outfit, as well as Star Trek: The Next Generation Female jumpsuits. Fans will also have a chance to get their picture taken with the Ladies of the Fleet who will be stationed at the Anovos booth. Anovos will hold a “Beam Me Up” Star Trek Cosplay gathering on Sunday at 1pm for your chance to get pictures and drawings.

Hallmark (Booth #2913):
The company’s 2012 Star Trek Keepsake Ornaments, available in stores the weekend of July 13-15, will be on display which includes the U.S.S. Enterprise™ NCC-1701-D of STAR TREK: The Next Generation™ 25th Anniversary Keepsake Ornament. Additionally, they will be showing their Star Trek greetings and revealing their 2013 Star Trek ornaments.

Simon & Schuster (Booth #1128):
Simon & Schuster will be featuring their monthly Star Trek novels, as well as the upcoming Haynes Manual for the Klingon Bird of Prey.

Hasbro (Booth #3213):
Hasbro, the global branded play company, will be offering fans a variety of products based on the STAR TREK property beginning in 2013 in support of the STAR TREK movie sequel from Paramount Pictures.  Leading the product offering from Hasbro will be a line of premium KRE-O STAR TREK building sets featuring fantastical spaceships and legendary characters from the franchise. The KRE-O STAR TREK sets will offer high-quality KRE-O bricks as well as new KREON figures in the likeness of popular characters. Among its additional new play experiences, Hasbro will also offer robust line of roleplay toys for kids and fans to act out the intergalactic saga as well as select new figures.  At San Diego Comic-Con, Hasbro’s booth will be participating in the CBS Consumer Products special edition STAR TREK Comic-Con postcard giveaway.  Be sure to check Hasbro’s upcoming booth schedule for times when the postcards will be distributed (while supplies last). La-La Land Records (Booth #429 “Toy Hungry”):
La-La Land Records will be selling their brand new STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE 3-CD SET, as well as their in-release TNG 3-CD SET, which premiered at last year’s Comic-Con. They will also be discussing their upcoming DEEP SPACE NINE soundtrack release.

DEXTER

Entertainment Earth (Booth #2342):
Bif Bang Pow! will debut four new Dexter products. At the Entertainment Earth booth, the Dexter Dark Passenger 3 3/4-Inch Action Figure ($10), the Dexter Dark Passenger 7-Inch Bobble Head ($15), Detective Joey Quinn 7-Inch Bobble Head ($15) and Lt. Debra Morgan 7-Inch Bobble Head ($15).

THE TWILIGHT ZONE

Entertainment Earth (Booth #2343):
In his first-ever appearance at Comic-Con, Richard Kiel (“Kanamit” from The Twilight Zoneand “Jaws” from the James Bond™films) adds to the fun and excitement at its booth on Saturday (Time TBD) and Sunday from 1:00 pm – 3:30pm as he autographs Bif Bang Pow!’s limited edition (700 pieces) SDCC Exclusive Kanamit’s Cookbook Gift Set that features a tin tote, journal, and 8-inch scale EMCE Kanamit Action Figure in a new outfit ($30).  Also available will be a limited edition (750 pieces) SDCC Exclusive The Invaders Diorama ($25), product debut Icons of The Twilight Zone Bobble Head Revisited ($15), and all-new Henry Bemis Bobble Head ($15).

Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website www.ActionFigureInsider.com. Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice.
