DCUC Black Manta - Body
DCUC Classic Aquaman - Head
DCUC Red Tornado - Glove Cuffs
Collar - From the vest of a TNA Wrestler & Fixit
Misc Fodder - Headband and Belt Sash
Sculpted w/ Fixit Sculpt - Headband, Hair, Mustache, Jewels on Gloves, Belt and Jewel Clasp on Belt.
SJ Insignia - Printed on Clear MicroScale Water Slide Decal Paper
Weapons - Guns from a 2000 AD Figure (Strontium Dog I think), Sword from a POTC figure, Scabbard from an LOTR figure.
Painted with Citadel & Model Masters Paints

The recipe pretty much tells the story there. The hardest part of this Custom for me was the detail painting - especially on the gloves. If I was going to do this again I’d sculpt the yellow surround around the red jewels on his gloves.

Doing the insignia with the deacal made it easier than painting it but I had to create the design in my PhotoShop Elements program which is a severely hobbled version of PhotoShop. Had the insignia printed onto the decal paper at a local printer to insure sharpness and thought I did a good job sealing it but when I did the transfer the yellow all washed out! Luckily the black outline hung on and I went back and repainted the yellow which all you customizers know is right up there with white in trying to get smooth.

Very interested to hear what y’all think!

That’s one hell of a nice custom!
Great frankensteining and the paint job is so perfect!

I know nothing of the character, but you did a bang-up job with the red/black details on the guy. Would love to see more Marvel mutants in this style.

Hey! This is DCUC Customs, not DCUC Marvel! :^P Great job, though! I love Marvel Legends, but the clean look given to this Marvel character by using the DCUC body as a base is fantastic!

Beautiful sculpting work and well put together overall — must’ve been a lot of work and it paid off. I hear you on the yellow …

OUTSTANDING! And, major props for going with such an unusual character choice!

Now…. ya GOTTA do T’Chod, or whatever his name was. The big hulky green-skinned alien Starjammer. Etrigan as a base, perhaps?

    Love it!

For me, the most important part of any custom is the face…and you *nailed* Chris Summers, here, Buzzy. Love the sculpting, love the paint app…the eyes, especially.

That being saidm he’s pretty darn near perfect from the neck down, too. Sorry to hear about the problems with the decal, but if it’s any consolation it’s not noticeable at all.

Honestly, I think this is the best work I’ve seen from you. :)
