DC COLLECTIBLES ANNOUNCES NEW ULTIMATE EDITION OF THE JOKER BUST BY RICK BAKER

Capitalizing on the immense excitement for The Joker Bust by Oscar-winning special makeup effects artist, Rick Baker, DC Collectibles will create an ultra-exclusive variant design of the spine-chilling bust that is sure to please both Baker’s most dedicated fans and collectors alike. Announced today, DC Collectibles will produce 50 pieces of the Clown Prince of Crime using Baker’s original molds, offering fans an ultimate edition bust that is just one step removed from the Academy Award winner’s original creation.

The new variant bust showcases Baker’s original black paint design for The Joker’s shirt, offering an alternative look to the standard version’s orange shirt. The variant edition measures the same 1:1 scale as the standard version, and the limited quantity will be carved out of the already announced 200 production run. Each variant bust will be numbered 1 to 50 and contain a certificate of authenticity hand-signed by Baker. Fans can bring home this ultimate edition masterpiece in October 2018 at an MSRP of $1500.00.

 

The standard version of The Joker Bust by Rick Baker will also hit shelves in October 2018, and each piece will be numbered from 1 to 150. The MSRP of the standard bust is $1000.00.

Rick Baker is one of Hollywood’s most celebrated special makeup effects artists and is best known for his work on Hollywood blockbusters such as An American Werewolf in London, Men in Black, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Planet of the Apes, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Star Wars, the Thriller music video, among others. Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website www.ActionFigureInsider.com. Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice.
