DST Comic Con Star Trek Exclusive Alert!

Plans for this summer’s San Diego Comic Con are firming up and DST is very excited to announce a STAR TREK partnership as sure to send fans running as a belligerent Nausicaan with a chip on his shoulder!  Only available through Diamond Select Toys, Action Figure Xpress, Toy Rocket and New Force Comics, four exclusive 25th Anniversary Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan figures will be beaming into the show along with a fifth promotional figure – Genesis Khan!

New Force Comics will offer the exclusive Dr. McCoy figure with online retailer Action Figure Xpress delivering an exclusive Scotty of their own.  The exclusive Chekov will be available through Toy Rocket as their second exclusive release while DST will gives fans a chance to bring Mr. Sulu home. 

When purchasing the Wrath of Khan McCoy, Scotty, Sulu and Chekov figures from their respective retailers, con-goers will be able to have a special STAR TREK card stamped at each booth.  Upon completing this card and returning to the DST booth during the convention, fans will receive the limited Genesis Khan figure at no cost!  Quantities of the Genesis Khan figure will be limited and subject to availability, so interested fans should complete this STAR TREK challenge early to claim their free prize!

The first series of action figures based on this legendary film is already on track for a Summer ’07 release featuring Admiral Kirk, Khan himself and the limited Captain Terrell.  A Previews-Exclusive “Double Cross” Kirk depicting a battle-damaged and enraged Kirk will also be available wherever comic books are sold.  For more information, please contact your local comic retailer and reserve your figures today!

Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on MSNBC.com, Wired.com, Fark.com, Boing-Boing, Gizmodo.com, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
