October 2, 2018

Busts, Mega-Sized Statues and the Latest from the Best-Selling Figurine Collections,  plus the “Batmobile Cutaways” Premier Edition

(OCTOBER 1, 2018 – New York, NY) – After a record-breaking showing in 2017, Eaglemoss Hero Collector, designers, manufacturers and publishers of high-quality collectibles from across the world of pop culture, are back at New York Comic Con, more heroically exciting than ever before!

Fans of DC Comics will be able to start or add to their collections – as well as purchase outstanding gifts for the fans in their lives – with special prices throughout the convention at Booth #1520, beginning Thursday, October 4th through Sunday, October 7th, at the Javits Convention Center on West 34th Street in New York City.

Taking center stage and standing nearly 14 inches tall are Mega-sized statues of two of the most popular members of the Justice League – THE FLASH and SUPERMAN. Each has been expertly sculpted of Polystone resin, hand painted and comes with a collector’s magazine. Best of all, they’re available for purchase on site at special convention prices.

The two latest entries in the Hero Collector line of Batman Universe Collector’s Busts will also be shown and available for purchase on site – CHRISTIAN BALE as BATMAN from The Dark Knight and HEATH LEDGER as THE JOKER from the same film.  Averaging close to 5-1/2 inches in height, each richly detailed bust is crafted of Polystone resin, hand painted and comes with a collector’s magazine.

Among the many other officially authorized DC Comics collectibles to be showcased at the Hero Collector booth are all seven stars of the Justice League Animated Series – Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Hawkgirl and Martian Manhunter.  They’re joined by all six heroes and villains from the second mini-series of Batman Animated Series Figurines – Mr. Freeze, Scarecrow, The Riddler, Two-Face, CATWOMAN and BATGIRL – along with the Special Edition of Clayface.

The first four versions of Diana of Themyscira from the all-new Wonder Woman Mythologies Collection will also be on display and available for purchase on site – CLASSIC WONDER WOMAN, GOLD ARMOR (KINGDOM COME), DC BOMBSHELL and FIRST APPEARANCE.

Finally, fans and gift givers will have a chance to flip through the pages of an advance preview of “BATMOBILE CUTAWAYS,” part of the new line of Eaglemoss Hero Collector “Premier Editions.”  This 72 page softcover visual guide features detailed cutaway illustrations of vehicles from the Batman Classic TV series, (including the Batcycle and Batcopter) and comes packaged in a boxed gift set with a die-cast model of the Batmobile. “BATMOBILE CUTAWAYS” will be available in stores starting October 30, 2018.

Hero Collector also invites all attendees to stop by Booth #1520 every day for the chance to win an exclusive daily “Bundle of Joy.”  Day 1 will award the Star Trek Discovery Bundle, featuring 5 ships from the Star Trek: Discovery Official Starships Collection. Day 2 will award the Battlestar Galactica Bundle, featuring all 4 ships in the collection released to date.  Day 3 spotlights the Batman Universe Busts Bundle, including 12 busts from the collection.  And on Day 4, the Star Trek Starships XL Bundle, with 5 ships from the collection, will be awarded.

Daniel Pickett
Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website www.ActionFigureInsider.com. Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on MSNBC.com, Time.com, The Wall Street Journal, The Saturday Evening Post, CNN.com, AssociatedPress.com Wired.com, Fark.com, Boing-Boing, Gizmodo.com, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
