Exclusive #BlackPanther Variant Cover Comic Available on eBay

Ahead of the highly anticipated Black Panther film release, eBay is selling a limited amount of copies of Black Panther: The Sound and the Fury #1 with an exclusive variant cover. This special-edition is predicted to sell out quickly.

  • The variant cover was designed in collaboration between eBay, Marvel and eBay seller Mycomicshop, and illustrated by accomplished comics illustrator Sanford Greene.
  • The comic is being released a week prior to the Black Panther movie premiere, which has sold more advance tickets than any other Marvel movie in history.
  • The limited edition variant cover comic – with limited copies being sold – has a MSRP of $9.99 but will cost $5.99 with free U.S. shipping on eBay’s Daily Deals beginning Wednesday, 2/7 at 8am PT. It’s available for pre-order at 8am PT on Tuesday 2/6. Available while supplies last.

In celebration of the comic book release, eBay is revealing Black Panther sales trends on the marketplace*:

  • Purchases of Black Panther items have increased dramatically ahead of the feature film – sale have more than doubled from Oct 2016-Jan 2017 to Oct 2017-Jan 2018.
  • Black Panther sales spiked the week the first movie trailer was released: sales increased by 23% the week of October 16, 2017.
  • Currently, there over 52,000 Black Panther available listings.


Regularly releasing limited edition variant covers like “Marvel Legacy #1” and “ The Spectacular Spider-Man #1” which sold out in 26 hours , eBay is a top destination to shop rare and exclusive comic memorabilia.

Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s.
