Hawkman
3-pack
We're
now one more character closer to the Super Powers line

At long last
we have Hawkman in the JLU line. Hawkman is an interesting one
as he's been on the list as a possible figure and then was off
the "can make" list for awhile. But Mattel kept asking
and now we are one figure closer to having all of the Super Powers
characters in the animated style from Mattel. With the release
of the Joker and Hawkman in this wave (and using John Stewart
for Green Lantern and forgetting the Hal debate) we are only missing
the Penguin from the original 12 figures in the first wave of
Super Powers figures. If you're not a stickler for scale Hasbro
made 2 versions of the animated Penguin in their B:TAS lines.

According
to Mattel this wave should be hitting stores around July 26th,
just about the time of Comic Con.

Hawkman uses the same body as winged Amazo with
a new head and a new paint job, so with his wings and his helmet
he appears quite large.
The rest of the 3-pack consists of the Justice Lords Flash. However
on the new package he is labled as "Alt. The Flash."
Rounding out the 3-pack is Rocket Red.

And since this is a 3-pack that means that there
are no weapons or accessories. Rocket Red does not have his rocket
or shoulder mounted launcher from the single pack, and Hawkman
has no weapons. However if you happen to have a spare Hawkgirl
mace around he'd look something like this..

But I'm sure what everyone is wondering is how does
he look next to his "beloved" Hawkgirl.

I experimented a bit with the armored wings from
a previous release of Hawkgirl to see if they would fit on Hawkman
so that if Hawkman was ever released as a single figure we could
cobble together some Thanagarian warriors. The wings are not an
exact fit, you can draw your own conclusions.

And finally let's take a look at him with all
the rest of the JLU figures.

A big "Thank you" to Mattel for being
able to take a pre-Comic Con closer look at this upcoming 3-pack. |
