I got these from BBTS today. I purchased the individually packaged figures, not the gift pack.
HOLY CRAP. HOLY CRAP.
These are some of the nicest figures I've ever owned. When I saw them, I thought they would be pretty cool, and I got them today and had to just glance at them until I got done with some errands.
Then I finally got home and opened them. They are AMAZING.
Figures: The figures themselves look like they came right out of the first issue of the comic (with some color added, admittedly). They are incredibly posable. 2 points of articulation in the ankles, ball jointed shoulders and hips, knees, rotation and flexion of the wrist, and ball jointed heads on a folding neck!!!!!! If you can think of a pose to put them in, they can do it. Absolutely incredible.
Paint apps are very tight and they did a really good job with the washes on the masks and belts, elbow and knee pads.
Stand: The four stands are interlocking, front to back and sit side by side. They are designed to replicate the famous panel from the first issue of the old Mirage series. Detail here is VERY good and paint apps are very tight. The addition of the fire hydrant and street lamp are really nice touches. Again nice job on the paint apps.
Accessories: Each figure comes packed with extra hands that have the climbing claws which the turtles famously donned to get to the rooftop for the 'final' battle with shredder. Additionally, each fig comes with a 'non mutated' turtle. Finally, each fig comes with a unique accessory, such as a TCRI canister or additional weapon, like throwing claws or shruiken or whatnot.
Of course, every figure comes with their signature weapon. One nice point I'd like to make here. Raphael can hold his Sai in a variety of ways, including pointing out between his two fingers as he often did in the comic.
Summary: I would recommend these to ANYONE, but ESPECIALLY those who grew up with the original version of the Turtles. The nostalgia factor is HUGE. I can remember buying, like, the 4th print of TMNT #1 at a flea market, along with some of the other issues. I loved the art and the story was a blast, but the art just stuck with me.
Please, I implore you, get these figures if you have the money and shelf space. I don't see any way you could be sorry.

These figures are incredible. I keep begging my local FYE to get them in.

I received my set of individually carded figures yesterday and these figures are fantastic. They are the TMNT figures collectors have always wanted and they do not disappoint.
I just hope NECA keeps this series going with at least 2 more waves. I will be let down if we don't get April, Casey, the Foot, Shredder, and Splinter. Also, I would like to see the Turtles done in a different style, similar to their more muscular/mature physique that they took on as the first comic series progressed.

While I'd love to see that, Shredder and some Foot Soldiers would do me fine.
I'd love to see figs in Jim Lawson's style (he did the "Return to New York" storyline)...I LOVED that storyline. So dramatic with Leo getting almost killed and the Turtles being forced to leave NYC...I think I may read that tonight...
Honestly though, when I wish for anything more than that, I feel almost greedy because these figures are THAT GOOD.
Does anyone (Julius, otter?) know if there are any plans to do more than one wave of these?

yep. they would like to make more if these do well. We saw April at Toy Fair and Randy talked about wanting to do more such as he different colors/clans of the Foot and maybe even some different versions of the Turtles such as a more Eastman styled or the teenage do-rag versions.

Awesome, thanks for the news Julius.
Was April in the 'original' style? I hope they give us Foot soldiers and Shredder in the same style as the Turtles.

Wow that's beautiful. Great work there. Don't know how I missed that around Toy Fair time.

These figures appear to be a BIG hit. Largely because they're so great. I'll try to do a review once I get the singles.

Don't usually do this, but I love these figs.
My best shot at recreating that famous panel in TMNT #1...
