This was not a complete Wayne Manor, but for $20 I am happy. I plan to separate the mansion from the cave and I am looking at some kind of substructure to turn it into a tower, with the cave truly under the mansion. The mansion part can also be used for the Universal Monsters.

Last week I picked up a Real Ghostbusters Firehouse Playset. I have to clean it up before it can become either JSA Headquarters or GCPD Headquarters. Hmmmm

I stopped at a new restaurant today, Steaks and Shakes. They had real good food at real good prices. They also had this:

Technically not a playset but it is cardboard and I thought it was kind of cool considering it's scale.

It did not have a seat in it so I took some cardstock and made on. This one is just a test, I will draw out one and scan it into the computer to color it.

I stopped by Big Lots a while back and found the Worldpeace keepers Battlefield set. I thought it was long gone out of stores so I was pretty stoked to find it.

That looks like an Orc fort to me. I would really like the HQ set that was at Big Lots, but it was only there that 1 year.

Joeace - Thanks for posting the pic so people knew what I was talking about. For some reason my pic wasn't resizing and I didn't want to leave a HUGE pic in the thread.

Yeah that's what I thought too. So I was stoked to find it towards the middle of November this year. I also found the Military Life set with the locker and bunkbeds. I knew the set existed but didn't know when it was released.

Does anyone The Batman Power Key Batcave Playset? It looks pretty cheap but was wondering if anyone had a display with it.

Over the weekend I finally made it down to the big flea market here. I found 3 good toy dealers. The first had a lot of MotU, including a Grayskull that he thought was complete. It looked complete and had the He Man figure with it, so if it was missing anything, it would be something small. Anyway, he wanted $40 for it. He also had an incomplete Eternia and I saw a piece of the really big gothic looking Batcave in a pile on a back shelf. I may go back to see how much of that he has. The second dealer had a Grayskull for $70 and an Eternia. I did not check the completeness of these. The third was loaded with Fisher Price type doll houses, enough to build a whole neighborhood.

I also saw a lot of Springfield there.

I just wish I had room for it all.

I have been considering a custom Fortress of Solitude for some time. After considering possibilities, I have more or less settled on foam core and or cardboard for my material. Now I need to determine how much I will need, so I pose the question: How big should a FoS playset for 1/18 scale be?

Are you going for a single big chamber like the old Superman movies or something like in STAS with creature exhibits and other rooms?

Leaning more toward movie version. One thought is 12 to 14 inch legnth and 5 inch deep. Height is relative. Or I could go 14X14 square.

I lean towards going as big as you can display so 14 x 14 but depends on what elements you want to put in there I think.
