Jazwares, Inc., a leader in the consumer products marketplace, has been awarded the toy licenses for Capcom’s Street Fighter® and Mega Man® video game franchises. Under the terms of the agreement, Jazwares will be the master toy licensee for Mega Man. The Street Fighter license is a category-specific agreement that covers only the categories of Boys BS/PVC/Vinyl figures and accessories, 4-inch and under playsets and vehicles.
The Jazwares’ team of design experts have built a reputation for producing true-to-life toys that bring action-figure play to kids and collectors alike. In 2011 they will translate two of the most popular iconic video games into new collections for the fall.
“We are extremely excited to put a new punch in the popular Street Fighter and Mega Man brands with all new action figure collections for the next generation of fans,” said Laura Zebersky, executive vice president sales, Jazwares.
“We’re thrilled to be on board with one of the premiere action figure design teams to help take our iconic characters from the arcade screens right into kids’ and collectors’ homes,” said Joshua Izzo, Director of Licensing of Capcom.
Capcom pioneered the fighting games genre with Street Fighter, one of the most successful fighting franchises in the world, selling over 25 million copies to date. Throughout its twenty-five year history, Street Fighter has continued to develop and successfully reinvent itself in the gaming industry.
The spring Street Fighter™ 2011 toy line by Jazwares will include all new 3.75” action figures. Available in single packs, double packs and comic book battle packs, the toys will portray the characters of Street Fighter like no kids or collectors have ever seen before.
Created by Capcom in 1987, Mega Man is one of the most iconic video game characters in the world and starred in more than 140 different games. Mega Man collectively sold over 29 million copies worldwide. Mega Man® 9 and Mega Man® 10 brought the reputation of the franchise back by recreating the classic game and graphics of the original Nintendo release.
Capcom and Jazwares team up in spring 2011 to combine classic entertainment with an all new line of kid and collector action figures, allowing kids and parents to continue the adventures of Mega Man at home.

I am sooooo stoked for both of these lines! I've been a Street Fighter fan since the days of the original SF arcade game. Really kicked into high gear when SFII came out.
Man, I miss arcades. Used to love hanging out at Golfland on Blossom Hill Road in San Jose. Also, back in the early 90s we had a comic shop (which later became Heroes in Campbell) on Winchester Ave that had a full arcade inside and stayed open late on the weekends. Nothing like hitting the comic shop at 11pm, checking out comics and playing video games. Good times.
Very excited to see what these look like! 3-3/4" Street Fighter is a dream come true! I hope they make Blanka, Ken and Guile early on!

I liked the A-Team stuff (well, ok...Face and Lynch weren't the best) but I haven't had any breakage issues...and my daughter has even played with BA, Hannibal and the van...

Can't wait to start seeing pics.
With all the "crossovers" that Capcom does in the SF game series, I wonder if it will lead to some "surprise" entries in the toy line???

I'm excited, but I'll want to see pictures. I thought Hasbro did a capable job with Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat, back in the 90's, using their G.I. Joe design to bring them out (and you have to admit it was cool to see characters from the two main fighting games in an identical format -- when's the last time something like that happened outside of Mego?) Unfortunately, both lines came up short of really complete runs of characters.
Then there was the SOTA line -- EXTREMELY impressive, but after the company underwent some staff changes, they just sort of abandoned it -- and I would've dearly loved to have seen Dee-Jay come out to at least complete the core group of best-known characters from Super Street Fighter II.
It seems Street Fighter has always had a little trouble staying around long enough to really have a complete run. Will JazWares' line be the one that really makes it? I hope so. I'll admit I'm not the biggest JazWares fan in the world, but we'll see what they produce. I'm -- cautiously optimistic.

I'm with you on SOTA. That is a heck of a line. They came so close to finishing out the most popular characters. Dee-Jay is the most glaring omission, but at least they got to Honda before the line went under. SOTA's line is my SFII line. Jaz will really have to blow my socks off before I spend anymore money on those characters. Now, if SOTA ever gets the Mortal Kombat line . . .

I agree that SOTA's line was great and a definitive SF2 line for the 6" scale. Of course, I'm excited by the prospect of these great characters in my much preferred 3-3/4" scale.
