Hey everybody,
Just wondering if you guys prefer action figures or sculptures. If you see something you like but it has no points of articulation, is it a deal breaker? Thanks!

To me they aren't the same thing, it's like comparing apples and oranges to each other both are fruit but they both look and feel totally different.

I have an extensive collection of both--
One thing to say for them -- (such as the JLU Maquette Line)-- at least I dont have to go back and stand them up again every day...

For female characters I'm more likely to buy statues/busts in addition to action figures.
Unless it's Iron Man or Aquaman, it's action figures only.
Action figures need to have several POA's in order for me to be interested. When people whine about the POA's "breaking up the wonderful sculpt" they really need to get statues instead.

Get rid of the god awful Ankle Joints and I may be willing to meet you halfway-- I dont need more than 10 after that- it causes more problems than helps.

I will agree that weak ankle joints are a disaster.
But tight, rocker-ankle joints really allow the figure to achieve some excellent poses.

I did get the Clawful and Tonque-lasher Stactions. They're pretty cool and fit in nicely with my 200x shelf.

If I could afford to have more statues than figures, then I most certainly would. I love my action figures, but statues to me are just beautiful. I bought the most recent Bowen Designs Black Widow. This one: It's easily the crown jewel of my collection. I'm sure opinions will vary widely on this though.

Try the Bust route, Cal. They're a lot cheaper to buy in quantity. I have about 20 busts, but only four full statues for exactly the reason you mentioned. Plus, it doesn't help that the prices on these are beginning to skyrocket.

That's not a bad idea, Bill. I only have two busts as of now. One of Thor that my wife got me for my birthday a couple years ago, and another of Loki that I got at the same time I got the Black Widow statue. And yeah, the prices have freaking skyrocketed on these statues.
