Some times I find myself moving figures to their proper section without even thinking about it. Just today I was in Target and there was a Crossbones in the GI JOE section, so I grabbed it and hung it with the Captain America stuff. It was almost like a reflex. Why am I doing the toy department's job for them? Anybody else doing this?

I was the toy deprartment head for K-Mart for a long time... it sort of happens for me as a force of habit.

I do too, but I'll do it anywhere in the store. Somebody has to do it, usually the employees aren't so swift.

I do it all the time, but not always without thinking. Sometimes tidying up a cluttered-all-to-hell aisle reveals hidden treasures hiding under the mess.

I do it too. All the time. I guess I'm just a little bit OCD. It bugs me when toys are in the wrong place or lying on the shelf underneath the pegs.
And occasionally I do find somebody's stash, but not so much lately.

We've had this discussion several times and Yes, I do it too.
To the point that I am often mistaken for an employee by other Moms and Grandparents. Usually I can help them out since I know the layouts and stock better than most paid employees.
Back in the hayday of DCIH and JLU having damn near the same packaging... oy, everyday I was out reorganizing pegs, straightening lines out, replacing figures into their proper groupings ...
Yeah, I need a life.

This is why I do as well-- sometimes you find the new figure a kid picked up and dumped in front of the crap like Squinkies or Bakugan...

I'll admit to this. Sometimes the sections are beyond repair or I don't care enough that particular day, but I will tidy up the pegs a bit or put things in their right place if they've strayed far at times.
I'm also fond of putting less common figures on the front of the pegs.

Damn I must be the only one that doesn't do it, it ain't my job and I don't get paid for doing it, I do enough cleaning up in my own job.

Not with the intention of tidying up the place. Sometimes, digging through a messy pile reveals some hidden stuff that I need/want. And in the process of digging through that mess, I have to organize which items I've already gone through. So the tidying up is just a by-product of my search.

I do it, because I hate a sloppy toy aisle. Also, it helps me keep track of exactly what they have in stock and what's not there. And I really hate it when there are figures I don't collect blocking the empty pegs of lines I do collect that should be restocked.
But I don't go crazy with it.

I do it all the time for basically every reason already mentioned. I'm OCD, I enjoy tidying up, I worked in a department store so it's instinct and I have definitely found some gems under the trash. I've helped the stockers at a store I didn't work in because I was sick of finding TFU figures with the ROTF and DOTM figures. They were stocking them one night and I said "Hey, you know these figures actually go over here right?". At first they did the indignant "Oh, well, it's my job" thing. Then they checked the UPC. Looked at me and said "How did you know that?". In ended up stocking and straightening the entire isle with the guys

Looking to score Treasure Hunts... meanwhile I was buying them and selling them in the parking lot to other dealers. Oh I was horrible for 'Missappropriation of Stock' however my General Manager's attitude was I was paying for everything and that meant sales for the store. But when customers would stop and do that, help with the straightening it always weirded me out. I dunno why?
