I know a lot of folks here collect multiple lines. I was just going through my collection spreadsheet (nerdy, I know), and realized just how massive my collection has gotten. Here's the breakdown: Marvel Legends (Toybiz & Hasbro): 119 MU (including Cap, Spidey, XMO, Thor and IM2): 201MOTUC: 48DCUC (including Batman Legacy/Arkham Asylum and Green Lantern Classics): 118GI Joe - 25th: 256 - vehicles/playsets: 17ROC: 63 - vehicles/playsets: 26POC/30th/Renegades: 197 - vehicles: 33Marvel Select: 5DC Direct: 13Sport figures: 4Thundercats: 20Young Justice: 26Star Wars: 42Avengers: 3Statues: 6For a total of 1121 figures and 76 vehicles/playsets. And this is after selling off over 200 JLU figures last year. It's a lot more than I expected... Anybody else track/catalog their collections? If you do, how do you do it? Software like an Excel spreadsheet? Or old school in a notebook? Discuss.

Once I get mine all unpacked again one day I plan to take pictures of each individual one and add a description of the figure. Both for me and for my wife/family if anything were to ever happen to me. Of course mine is a much smaller group of figures. My collection only includes JLU, DCUC, Action League, Young Justice and now Marvel Legends.

Been building it for a while, still have a long way to go, but got a massive amount done:
Marvel Universe (and movie lines)/DCIH: 353 Star Wars: 546 (Note not counted up Clone, Droid or Stormtroopers yet) GI Joe: 1043 Smaller lines: 349
2,281 so far
Not done Marvel Legends, DCU/DC Direct, MOTU or Transformers yet. Also not done vehicles/playsets of SW, GI Joe, ect.
Spreadsheet just stores the Info easier IMO. Tried a Database once for SW, just harder to arrange info the way I liked it

I tried about 6 years ago and gave up a couple hours in. I've just got too much stuff. Maybe someday . . .

I really, really need to. I've got too much stuff to keep track of it in my head any more. I'd be interested in finding out HOW people do it. I'd like something that goes on my iPhone or iPad that I can attach a picture of each figure.

I keep thinking about it-- as I wanted to do it for insurance purposes.. and I figured if I was going to do it- I was going to do it right -- with pictures and the like- but I started doing a text database for my comics once- and that took 3 hours to just do one box (without pictures)- so I kind of got discouraged (as its easier to keep track of what I dont have then what I do) so until I get a laptop just for my collection- (since otherwise I would have to do a lot of walking back in forth from the collection room to the computer) and I have a free couple of weeks and nothing else to do whatsoever, I just dont see an accurate database happening... Not to mention then Im going to have to find the official names of the 20 different darth vaders- and picture match to remember which series each was from (Saga, VOTC, POTF2 etc..)
I might do a sortable excel list one day shorthand...-

What's I'd like to see it somebody post a master checklist that I can just download and check off (i.e. somebody does the work for me). That's how I got my Heroclix master list.

I found this for those trying to find an alternative way to go about this arduous process. http://www.collector-actionfigures.com/ ... anagement/It's a comprehensive database of just about every action figure from the last 30 years or so. I just started using it yesterday, in lieu of my spreadsheet, and it's actually pretty handy. There are pics for most everything, and they even list some of the oddball stuff like foil variants and the like. Most importantly, it's free.

I haven't really cataloged things, but I really should officially at some point. I do know that I have: 1. Every Gi Joe figure, vehicle, and playset that I am aware of. Not including the 12" or prototypes. 2. Every DCIH That I'm aware of. Not including prototypes or the big 30" Anti Monitor. 3. All Star Trek 3 3/4" figures except the Mego Betelgeusian and Megarite. 4. All Star Trek playsets that I am aware of except TOS shuttlecraft Galileo. 5. 7 MOTUC. 6. All Crystar figures that I was aware of until a couple days ago. Now I know I'm missing at least two. All the rest, fall into one of two categories until I take the time to compile lists. A bunch or a few.

First thing I did was type in some names of figs I thought wouldn't be in there, sure enough they weren't, thus I have to say not very comprehensive.

Sorry. I don't collect or have any vintage stuff. If it came out any later than 2003, I don't have it. 2003 may be pushing it. Whatever year Marvel Legends began, marked the beginning of my collecting as an adult.
