Well, I didn't know where else to post it.
I recently got a Iron Man (classic armor) from the Marvel Universe toyline. It is #21 of the first series.
My problem with the figure is that one of the peg holes is too small and I can't get it on the stand. (I use either round Entertainment Earth stands or Small Joes stands)
I was wondering if there is anyway to widen this hole.

If your going to leave it on the stand and don't have a dremel/screw gun with the right size bits I would recommend using a hair dryer to heat up the foot to loosen the plastic then place it on the base then run it under cold water to reharden the plastic

This is a bane of many collectors actually.

Every toy line seems to have a peg hole that is just slightly off from the next line.

Even within the same manufacturing company.

If you have a steady hand and a bit of confidence, you could dremel out the peg hole to fit the bases you have, or you could find new bases that better accomodate the peg hole of he figure you have, especially if you are going to be buying more figures from the same line as none of them will fit the stands you are currently using.

It sucks that there isn't an industry standard to make this all easier.

I'll try the hair dryer technique first.

It is the first and only figure I have had problems with. I think it's a manufacturing defect in this case since it is somewhat clear that there is a bit more of plastic left inside the peg hole. I tried using it on stands that are included in other series of the Marvel Universe collection and it didn't fit either.

I usually just use a drill and the right size bit and make the hole--(especaially on some star wars figures that are too shallow)-- but the only thing that sometimes gets in the way is that damn ankle articulation-- if you go to deep with the hole-- you can drill right through the joint.

Just curious, is there any chance that the hair dryer technique could damage the painting of the figure?

I would try using a drill or something like that, however, I don't have one nor do I have any sort of experience with it. I don't want to damage the figure.

It never has for me and I've used the hair dryer on a fair few. I've even used it on customs I've painted and had no issue. But you just want to heat it up so it's flexible don't go crazy

Yeah, I'll be careful. Just wanted to make sure nothing bad could happen by doing it.
