I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we could discuss playsets from all lines equally. I have noticed for example a lot of people using Imaginext sets with DCIH figures. What other possibilities abound out there. Well, here is the place to talk about it.

I want to start with 2 things I saw today on the Fisher Price aisle at TRU. First I saw a really cool, pardon the pun, Mr. Freeze HQ cave mini playset. I think this has many possibilities and I will probably break down and get it soon.

The second was a mini castle. I saw it in grays and blues, then a little further down the aisle I saw it again in pinks and purples. This is exactly what I want to suggest to Mattel to do with some playsets. Use the same mold and different paint schemes. Imagine Casmir's Fortress of Solitude as Mr. Freeze's hideout, all done from a Batcave! I happen to think the Loving Family doll house would make a fantastic Wayne Manor, perhaps with a DCIH exclusive Alfred figure packaged with it. The current item is about $65, but maybe someday I'll find one on clearance. The point is that Fisher Price is sitting on a whole catalogue of cool playsets Mattel could use and they are essentially the same company.

I also saw the Prince of Persia gate set at TRU on clearance for $13, still cheaper at Target for $10.

TRU is trying to clearance the Star Trek transporter playset for $20. It is $10 at Big Lots and not moving.

I saw my local Target has that Prince of Persia gate arch on clearance.

It's a cool looking set piece, but I'm not sure what I'd use it for yet...

I checked the scale of the Mr Freeze cave, it is about 1/16th of an inch too short for the average DCIH figure. Still have not committed to getting it.

Just an off the wall thought here. One of the greatest playsets ever made, Kenner Star Wars Ewok Village, which was reused for Robin Hood, would make a really good hideout for Gorilla Grodd.

Yes, great playset. I remember the XMas I got that. Unfortunately, by that time I was kinda past Star Wars. I ended up playing with my Dungeons & Dragons Fortress of Fangs playset much more. That was a good one.

Another playset that comes to mind as being on I had but didn't actually play with too much: Castle Greyskull. I may be in the minority, but I never thought it had great playability.

The Creature Cantina is also high on the list of fond memories.

I loved those SW playsets. That ESB trench set still has a nice design.

I have not seen that castle, but the Van Helsing castle looks good, if a bit small.
