I finally just bit the bullet and bought all the TPB of ASTRO CITY. I dont know why, something just felt right about it. I checked out the figures, I knew the SAMARITAN and THE CONFESSOR and FUTURE CONFESSOR were done, but did they ever do the CONFESSOR with the mask/hood? I was also suprised to find that WINGED VICTORY and JACK IN THE BOX were sculpted and ready to be done. On the back of the blister card, it states over 30 figures planned, pictured are

WINGED VICTORY
SAMARITAN
SILVER AGENT
JACK IN THE BOX
THE OLD SOLDIER
CLEOPATRA

I will check and see what the others were, but I think that was it.

Im really digging the series, Im kinda amazed that I didnt take note of it before, I knew of it, but I guess I had too much going on to notice.

I know there is a Samaritan statue that looks amazing and I cant help but think about it the more I read

Just for fun, I made the following ASTRO CITY ANIMATED figures, so far Ive done THE SAMARITAN/superman, THE CONFESSOR/batman -AND ALTAR BOY/tas drake robin. Ive sketched up animated versions of THE FURST FAMILY WITH TYRANOS REX/supergirl, ww, waverider, HUN figure? or Darksied? :? , WINGED VICTORY /jl ww with shield and sword, JACK IN THE BOX/gl, SUPERSONIC-1st version and of coarse, SILVER AGENT and THE GENTLEMAN/alfred if I can find an extra one :D . As I learn more, the ASTRO CITY collection will expand, I hope to put some pics up tonite or tomorrow.

If you know of any ASTRO CITY stuff, please lmk, Im trying to collect even duplicates of the ALEX ROSS COVERS.

What did you like about it? What did you not?

Astro City = Brilliant. Kurt Busiek did such a phenomenal job of creating a world to explore, with so many peripheral characters, that Astro City feels like something organic, that could grow by leaps and bounds at any time. Confessions was my first experience with Astro City. That book may be single handedly responsible for getting me back into comics after a long hiatus. Now, this was many years ago, so, long enough for me to get just about everything else in TPB form. AC styill amazes.

For as much as I like the fact that he's working on Superman, I'm irritated that this means the "Dark Age" arc will be long delayed. Oh well, with Busiek, I should be used to this sort of thing. Anyone remember Arrowsmith? Another brilliant Busiek work that will never be finalized :x

If you do animated style figures of AC, PLEASE post them here! I'd love to see those! :D

WINGED VICTORY and SAMARITAN with ALTAR BOY AND THE CONFESSOR-still working on detailing WV, but she is coming along nicely

Preview of the rest-FURST FAMILY, N-man, Silver Agent, STEELJACK and the HANGED MAN

FURST FAMILY-I regret doing the DARKSIED figure, because SPIDEY AND FRIENDS THING looks almost perfect, oh well

N-man, SILVER AGENT and STEEL JACK, SA is a pain in the butt but I think I figured out the best color scheme. Ill put up more pics after I work on him a bit more.

I dont know if you noticed the CONFESSORS robes and belt in the front, they are there just like in the book.

Supergirl was perfect to be a bit older ASTRA, Nick and Natalie still need work and Tyranos Rex will be finished hopefully tomorrow.

The Captain America shield is great and I think I have a LOTR sword in her hand, regardless, she is coming along pretty good, touch ups and details are coming.

Hope you enjoy....and thanks for visiting ASTRO CITY ANIMATED

It's a great line and would make great figures. Someone I know is looking into it.
