Just finished this web page devoted to the first annual "Mego Meet" that was held last week.

Lots of cool display photos and customs even a video, thought it may be of interest.

thanx for looking guys!

Kev, you can get beautiful Flash and Gls nowadays thanks to Doctor Mego, affordable too. I know they beat the heck out of my childhood customs!

My only Mego customs as a kid were to make the invaders. Sub-Mariner was simple, put Spock's head on any figure that had the blue underwear/trunks. No winged feet, but I could make do.

Human Torch (mind you, this is pre-FF release), was Aquaman with Captain Marvel's suit less the lightning bolt, and a pair of red boots from Superman.

Those two with Cap looked awesome!

Then I tried to create an on-fire Torch by placing Aquaman's head on Spider-Man's body (for the red hands) and painting the head red.

That...didn't work out so well.

I stopped customizing after that.

I swear rto crap I would probably wet myself to be in a room with that man Megos.

Very cool event. I loved my Megos I had as a kid and that was really the only stuff that "got away" or was sold off or given away. Once I started getting into Star Wars my folks thought I needed to "make some room" for my new obsession and off went my Megos and I had almost every DC character and a several Marvel. i had all the playsets and vehicles. *sigh* I hurts to think about.

I've since gone back an picked up a handfull- Spiderman, Hulk, Superman, Batman and Robin, Joker, Pengiun and Riddler. And I also have a custom Atom, Year one Batman, Bizarro and year one Aquaman.

It would cost a small fortune to get back what I had as a kid now.

I would KILL to get back the Megos that I had as a kid. Especially the Batcave playset w. working bat signal!

BUT I may have to break down & visit Dr. Mego's site to purchase the parts for a Mego Flash.

Yeah I had the Spock/Submariner (Sub-Mareeener) as a kid with Robin shorts to boot. I had to reenact my FF treasury edition somehow. Then I realized, I didn't have the FF.

The Meet was a real blast in terms of selection, I left a great of money there and still all the way home I kept thinking "Why didn't i grab *****?"

Such is collecting I guess...
