The PSA was actually a tribute to PSAs done during the Super Friends show, so there was no need to tie it to GI Joe.

And I loved the Aquaman song!

This episode was kind of meh for me. It was great to see the JSA, but I guess I wanted to see more than them tangle with the JSI. It's one of the few episodes that I deleted immediately after watching it.

I had high expectations for this one but they were dashed in so many ways that I lost track by the end.

A) They should have used the JLI/LOD baseball game for the teaser instead of going with Jeffrey Ross. I don't know the guy or his routine but he did not amuse. In twenty years, his cameo will be relevant to future audiences in the same way that having Jerry Reed on Scooby-Doo has proved relevant to present ones.

B) Maybe it was the writing. I get that Batman is supposed to be perfect, but does everyone else have to act obnoxious, dense, or plain annoying in a group setting?

C) The JSA. Loved seeing them in the classic costumes, but again: Starman was played as a primo A-hole. Wildcat has gone from sounding like Dennis Farina to Gabby Hayes. Jay Garrick had unfunny prostate issues. The only argument that rang a bit true was Alan Scott's beef with Guy Gardner and vice versa.

I wasn't planning to delete this one for awhile myself, but there you go. Just think if Bruce Timm had given us this exact scenario in JLI with Dwayne McDuffie writing it.

Otherwise, I was glad to see the classic JSA hanging in the satellite just like in the comics' good old days.

Okay, so I gave it a second viewing and realized that Starman's voice is a Ted Baxter homage.

Actor Ted Knight was the original Super Friends narrator. My fan cred just got blown to pieces. :(

I wouldn't worry about it. It was still a pretty bad episode.

I missed the first half, but once I saw about 10 minutes of it, I realized I wasn't missing much.

The part where Talia frees Batman while slipping his belt on unnoticed was pretty funny, though.

Was that the first appearance of Rocket Red in the series?... And where is Ralph? Is his only appearance that one time arguing with Plastic Man over who Batman perfers to work with?...

Actually Dennis Farina was Wildcat on JLU, R. Lee Emery is the Brave and the Bold's Wildcat.

I like Emery, but he plays Ted Grant like an aging hillbilly instead of a seasoned pro.

I just watched it via Jim's link.

Saw Ambush Bug there in the screen cap and just couldn't resist.

Honestly, it was worth it.

Spoiler: show
Its not so much an episode as it is a letter back to the fans and forums.

4 stories? This ep was cool and odd at the same time. Batman was hardly in any of the stories. And they were so different from each other.

Bravo.

It's the penultimate episode and I think they went for all the marbles.

The Adam Strange short reminded me of the 60's stuff which featured Space Ghost, the Herculoids, and other Hanna-Barbera characters. I think Adam's popularity had long since peaked by then, but it was still a nice nod.

The Flash one was okay. It's actually the first time I've enjoyed seeing Abra Kadabra. He had a Paul Winchell/Dick Dastardly thing going there which I liked. Having him act as an observatory instigator ala Mr. Mxyzptlk worked nicely for me.

'Mazing Man turned out just like the comics. He's there, so you either found him amusing or you didn't. Glad that Stephen DeStefano got to participate in his co-creation's TV debut.

The Creature Commandos short stayed true to the original source material and even paid homage to the Silver Age stories which composed The War That Time Forgot series.

I see these four as being the equivalent of those backdoor pilots that were often snuck into TV series ranging from Star Trek to Magnum, P.I. where the main characters let their guests have the floor and let 'em run with it to see what audiences thought.

Loved seeing 'Mazing Man!

I loved that short lived comic as a younger lad and I had long since thought he had been forgotten by everyone but me.

Now that he is back on the radar (albeit as a very small and already diminishing blip) any chance we can get a toy of him???

Write to Matty and maybe he'll end up as a pack-in figure with someone like Ambush Bug in the new DCUC sub program.
