Marvel has announced that "Ultimate Spider-Man" is coming to Disney XD in the fall of 2011:
The new series will chronicle the adventures of naive high-schooler Peter Parker as he comes to grips with his new powers.
Along with his new powers, the challenge for the young web-slinger in the new series is balancing his relationships with his friends and family and his super colleagues who can help him gain an understanding of his parent's legacy and his destiny.
"'Ultimate Spider-Man' will be a unique journey exploring our favorite web-slinger as he teams up with other fan favorite Marvel Super Heroes in never before seen stories with a new life filled with great challenges, new friends, intense action and character growth," said Eric S. Rollman, President of Marvel Animation.
Stay tuned for more updates on the show as it gets closer.

It's got big shoes to fill after Spectacular Spider-man. While the animation style wasn't exactly my cup of tea, the stories were the best Spider-man has had in animation form (and I'd say better than two out of three of the movies).
Here's hoping Disney doesn't dumb it down too much. A slim hope, I know.

I hope the fourth wall crap isn't going to be in it, I don't like Deadpool for this reason - I like my Characters to be just that characters not someone living in an Alternative Universe and knowing they are - if that makes sense.

Spider-man getting training as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent SO TOTALLY goes against what the comicbook Spider-man is about, it's baffling.
Seriously Iron Fist too? Power Man!?!
"Hey fans, remember what you love about these characters that have been around all these years? Well, forget ALL of that crap!" UGH! Can they get any further away from what these characters are about?
When Marvel went out of business in bankruptcy and this new company took over I never imagined they'd get SO much SO wrong.
I've got bags of respect for Paul Dini's work! (I happened to meet him at FanExpo in Toronto a couple years ago- he's a super-nice guy to boot)
I'm just put off that they're putting out so much effort to produce a new cartoon (involving Dini!) and we're handed this wacky premise that is off the mark for the way characters have been established. Ultimate stuff is not 'real' I know, but ...just, ugh. Sour grapes perhaps but man, all I feel is a missed opportunity for an awesome Spider-Man The Animated Series 2012-style.

Man, I consider myself a guy with a fairly open mind in the area of animation. I like a variety of styles and executions, but I really don't like what I'm seeing. The Ultimate Spidey style just looks a little generic, and if the writing for the show is indicative of the clip, I'll be passing on this one. Granted, this is a snap judgment based on one clip. I loved spectacular, I'm also a fan of Sean Galloway's style (lends itself to animation so well). I also like the new Avengers style (I just don't like the color palette they use). I will give spidey a chance though. Young Justice is the best super hero cartoon on the air right now though, imo.
