I like the way Doc Ock is presented.

That's about it so far.

I guess I'm the only one still watching Ultimate Spidey as well. I really liked this week's episode with Venom. Their take on him is a bit different than the 616 version and I like it. I love the awkward dynamic of the team with Power Man, Iron Fist, White Tiger and Nova. Nova is a real a-hole. But it works.

Ill probably watch it-- (if it ever makes it to DVD)

I watch it, but I can't say I like it. I keep watching in hopes that it gets better.

Yeah, I'm kinda the same way.

I will admit that I'm excited to see
Spoiler: show
Taskmaster
animated next week. He's one of my favorite villains.

I guess my biggest complaint is:

Is Peter ever going to get an episode to himself? If they really wanted to do a young team series, why not Runaways or Young Avengers? Or, heck, new mutants.

Or even . . . dare I say it? Power Pack.

Ultimate Spider-Man Renewed

by SuperHeroHype

June 11, 2012

A second season of Marvel’s #1 animated series Ultimate Spider-Man, the launch series of the Marvel Universe programming block, has been ordered by Disney XD, it was announced today by David Levine, Vice President and General Manager, Disney XD Worldwide. The debut series from Marvel Television premiered in April 2012 and to date, has more than doubled its delivery in Total Viewers. Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man follows the action packed adventures of New York’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man who joins S.H.I.E.L.D.'s exclusive training program alongside four other teens to learn what it takes to become the ultimate Super Heroes.

“We are very excited about the return of Ultimate Spider-Man inside the Marvel Universe on Disney XD,” said Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television. “With season two, the series introduces popular Marvel heroes and villains you’ve never seen before on the small screen. With more action, more excitement, more humor, this is the ultimate Spider-Man for fans of all ages.”

The second season of Ultimate Spider-Man has Spidey teaming up with some of the biggest heroes in the Marvel Universe, the Avengers – Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the Hulk. While the stakes get higher, the villains become more menacing as the young heroes encounter classic Spider-Man villains such as the Lizard and other familiar faces. Fans will discover the secret origins of their favorite S.H.I.E.L.D. trainees, with more revealed about Nova, Iron Fist, Power Man and White Tiger.

Sigh.

I guess I'm just getting too old for cartoons. :(

I tried several times over to give this show a chance. But it completely lost me about a month ago. It's officially canceled from my DVR.

I haven't gone that far yet, but I do zip through them if they don't catch my interest.

I would LOVE a Spider-Ham cartoon. But if they aren't going to do it properly, they shouldn't be doing it at all.

I couldn't find the other thread--

But just saw on Amazon-- Spectacular Spider Man is getting a complete series blu ray release in April-- for those that are interested..

Its like A:EMH that also got a Season 1 Blu Ray release-- I don't know why these are done so under the radar...

Ultmate Spider-Man: Web-Warriors "Halloween Night At The Museum"

First off, elephant in the room: This was terrible. A contender for the worst episode the series ever produced. I will not lie about that. At least they didn't use a laugh track.

But quality aside I have no objections to it in the slightest. Stuff like this what Marvel SHOULD be doing. Yes, I hated it. But I'm 39 years old. Kid superhero cartoons should not be trying to cater exclusively to adult fanboys. That's what got Young Justice and Beware The Batman into so much trouble.

From what I could tell this was a perfect episode for the 6 year old fans of Jessie to sample the show and see their favorite characters inexplicably using sick ninja moves. And as terrible as the episode was, I've seen clips of Jessie and I can say that that show looks MUCH worse. If Jessie fans see a Spider-Man cartoon that is actually a little bit better than the show they watch every week they are liable to stick around. And maybe they'll even like it enough to sample a Spider-Man comic. The comic book industry NEEDS little kid fans. Wouldn't it be great if some of them were little girls? That would not only help Marvel, but the entire industry. So, I'll take a sucky episode for the team and the long term health of superhero comics.

For the record, I never would have become a Static Shock fan if Batman hadn't shown up. Once that happened I watched every week and became a huge fan. I've seen every episode and own the only DVD release the show put out. I'm dying for season sets and would buy them the day they were released. There is no reason that won't happen with some Jessie fans. I never would have watched Static Shock otherwise and I'm betting some Jessie fans could have said the same thing about Spider-Man.

There is a very good chance that because of this episode the six year old female fans of Jessie just became fans of this show and might be willing to watch it again. That is a VERY good thing. It is SUCH a good thing that it is better for the Marvel brand than me complaining about an episode I didn't like. The show is bigger than me and the adults in the audience. Marvel would do well to keep doing stuff like this. 0.

Now only if they would continue to actually release the show on DVD/Blu Ray-- it might help as well...
