Now THAT was a damn fine episode! They managed to fool me. Earlier in the thread, I hypothesized that Aqualad was in deep undercover. But when he stabbed Artemis, my conviction faltered. Then when they showed everybody in mourning, I got pissed. Why make a new and interesting version of Aqualad, make him so noble in the 1st season, only to turn him into a murdering sociopath? Then, of course, a minute later all was revealed and everything was right in the world again. What a great show. Even the JLU fanatics have to admit that they never managed to pull off something like this! I almost don't mind the fact we're now in hiatus. Almost.

How did JLU not pull something off like this? Hawkgirl was undercover for 49 episodes. Give me a break. Anyway, good episode.

They got me today. I was taken by the intro and the episode. I did not expect the wrap up. Never have I been so happy to be taken for the ride. Loved it! How was that for no spoilers? But we still have a mystery as to what is going on with the 6 JL heroes. Very curious about that. Hoping that the series goes into reruns and not off the air.

There was absolutely no foreshadowing about her being a traitor. It came out of thin air and therefore didn't have the same level of impact. Plus she was "evil" for barely an episode. You just won't admit YJ has surpassed JLU in every way except longevity.

And like I've said before, until it builds off of a universe that was a decade in the making, it'll never be close. And no, skipping 5 years in their timeline does not count haha.

I guess Joel and many others here will be loyal to JLU until their dying breaths. To each their own I guess. I'm not that attached to anything, that I'm unwilling to see that something could potentially be (or is) better. I digress. Great, great, great episode. All the confusion (on my behalf) surrounding Aqualad, Artemis and Speedy, was well worth it for this kind of payoff. I'd so love to have a metric ton of Black Manta's soldiers in figure form. I love the design. Not to mention the jillion other amazing characters they've introduced in two spectacular seasons.

There's no reason not to stick with JLU. We followed that animated universe for 10 years. We saw Batman and Superman on their own, along with their proteges, allies and enemies. Then we saw the future of that universe with Beyond, and then we went back and saw all the greatest heroes the DC Universe has to offer in this same animated universe. Explain to me how Young Justice has surpassed that in a season and a half. Was it by introducing 200 characters and fleshing out 6 of them for more than 5 seconds? It's a great series and if they build on this universe for the next decade then I'll consider changing my mind. Until then, I'll enjoy having a semblance of the old DC Universe around somewhere for all of us to watch. Back on topic... I'd like to know when this plan was hatched and why the other team members were left out of it. Also, who was Artemis supposed to be with that necklace? Was it someone Manta knew because she just walked on to the ship with Aqualad. And could we please spend a little time with Zatanna?

I guess I'm the only one who liked seeing Aqualad become a villain! I like it when heroes and villains have history, but I suspected something was up when he didn't wanna finish off Lagoon Boy. Then he stabs Artemis, and I'm think wow, but in a weird good way! I don't like killing off characters just for the sake of killing, but that would have been a impacting moment if he really did her in! This won't play out well, Superboy & Miss Martian will be madd they didn't know about this plan, its no reason to tell the new members or the JLA, but them two should have been in on it as well Good episode

I was actually a little disappointed that they copped out on it the way they did.

I guess the speculation of 1 will rise, 1 will fall and 1 will die! Made it easy for me too be ok with it lol superfriend wrote: Aqualad I too think Kaldor might be deep undercover, so deep that only a few people know and when they cross paths, they deal with each other as if the situation is real to keep the cover intact. Great perdiction BTW!
