Young Justice to Premiere January 7by SuperHeroHypeDec 21st, 2010 The DC Comics animated series will air at 7pm on Cartoon NetworkCartoon Network has announced that it's upcoming "Young Justice" series will have its series premiere on January 7th at 7pm (ET/PT). Based on both the "Young Justice" series that ran in the late 90's and the modern "Teen Titans" team, "Young Justice" was previewed in an hourlong special that aired on November 26th. The ongoing series is officially described as follows: In Young Justice, being a teenager means proving yourself over and over — to peers, parents, teachers, mentors and, ultimately, to yourself. But what if you're not just a normal teenager? What if you're a teenage super hero? How much harder will it be to prove yourself in a world of super powers, super villains and super secrets? Are you ready to come of age in such a world? Are you ready for life or death rites of passage? Are you ready to join the ranks of the great heroes and prove you're worthy of the Justice League? That's exactly what the members of Young Justice — Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis — will found out … whether they have what it takes to be a proven hero.

Crap. The title for 1/7 is "Independence Day." I think we have ourselves a repeat gentlemen. Make that two, since what we saw was 1 hour long. So I guess no truly new episodes until 1/21.

Does not matter to me. More people will see it. There will be more chatter about it. If ratings are good, hopefully that will bode well for toys and other merchandise. Who is up for Young Justice merchandise of all kinds? It will be interesting to see what ends up getting to the stores.
Hopefully the usual: school supplies, sheet sets, plastic plates, party napkins, who knows what we will get.

Hopefully the usual: school supplies, sheet sets, plastic plates, party napkins, who knows what we will get. Surprisingly, they still make a lot of this stuff for Justice League. Just the other day I saw a new coloring book with all these cool stickers (some of them of pretty obscure characters) and a big JLU kite.

Other than the DCUC tie-in series, I have absolutely no interest in YJ merchandise. I hope they sell a lot of crap for the sole purpose of making the Powers That Be order more seasons, but I won't be shelling out any money personally.

Unless the figures are DCIH scale, and I do not believe they will be, all I want is the HoJ.

They're not 3 3/4 scale. Mattel has already said that they're in scale with JLU.

CCC. I know, but there's nothing stopping them from repeating the pilot in its entirety so we could have a new episode next Friday. Or, since we're playing the wishing game, showing the pilot AND following it up with a new episode right afterwards. But, nooooo. We get the pilot split back into its original two half hour status, so nothing new for two more weeks. Ah, well, at least we'll get to see the opening theme monage. THAT we haven't seen before to the best of my knowledge.
