Remember the Superman movie that was supposed to star Nicolas Cage with Kevin Smith as writer and Tim Burton as director but somehow never got made? This Kickstarter campaign is raising funds to produce a documentary about that unmade sure-fire cult classic. Jon Schnepp (of Metalocalypse and Grimm Fairy Tales) heads the project and is aiming to raise $98,000 to make the documentary. An additional $50K stretch goal is being hoped for to be able to produce a few segments based on the original writing.

After hearing Kevin Smith's story about meeting with Jon Peters over the script this would be a must see!

I might actually have a copy of the script. I'll have to dig through some old storage and see if I can find it

Five years ago, I think I would have welcomed this.

Nowadays, I just don't care anymore. It was so long ago. I read the synopsis several years ago (it was like three pages long) and thought it had some cool ideas (giant Spider aside).

But in 2013? Meh. Who cares anymore?

That story was awesome and entertaining-- especially when he brought up the Wild Wild West part...

Anyone have a link to Kevin Smith's discussion?

It might be a nice contextual piece for the thread to help draw some others in ....

It was part of his "An Evening with Kevin Smith" DVD. The DVD is funny but the Superman Lives! section and the part about him shooting documentary footage for Prince are the highlights.

EDIT: Here's the YouTube link, of course it comes with the NSFW/K warning that pretty much comes with any Kevin Smith piece...

...might want to watch the linked video of him about Planet of the Apes, too...
