Finally got the chance to watch this tonight. It was pretty good. Some of the scenes were very true to the comic, others were very different. I liked it overall.
One Thing. This looks like a sequel to JL:Crisis on Two Earths. When they announce Cyborg as a new member, it made me wonder "What about the 5 heroes you added to your team at the end of the last movie?" You know, Aquaman, Firestorm, Red Tornado, Black Canary, Black Lightning. I know, the two movies might have nothing to do with each other, but it did make me wonder.

True, but they spoiled us with the Green Arrow, Hex, and Spectre shorts during earlier releases.

I watched it over the weekend, and I really enjoyed it. I'm not familiar with the storyline in the comics, though, and maybe that helped.
I, too, miss the shorts. I thought they were a nice extra.

I had some issues with the story, but overall, enjoyed it. The method to disable GL was more appropriate for John Stewart, not Hal, and one would think the ring would tell him what he was holding (no spoilers, just in case).
Anyways, blu-ray for cartoons is way overkill except for the improved audio.
And you can get great HDMI cables from bluejeanscable.com for peanuts.

That's a good point... but doesn't he have to inquiry and ask it to scan? I didn't think the rings functioned on their own unless looking for a sentient replacement.

It seems the rings are useful only when the writers want them to be.

In case you did not know, when this story was told, the Flash and Green Lantern involved were Wally West and Kyle Rayner. The original traps were intended for them specifically. For Flash, the idea was to make him keep vibrating until he exhausted himself. For GL, the idea was to make him doubt his abilities so his ring was unusable.

I thought they made Kyle blind since his abilities with the ring were all based on visualization so if he can't see he can't create constructs. I didn't think it had anything to do with doubting himself.

Kyle believed he had become blind and the ring manifested that will.
