Last night saw the return of the ever popular The Walking Dead on AMC and it's already broken a cable record. From the press release:
The biggest show of the fall season among Adults 18-49 is on AMC. Last night, AMC premiered season three of "The Walking Dead" and outdelivered cable and broadcast hits including "Hatfields & McCoys," "Jersey Shore," "Modern Family," "The Big Bang Theory" and "The Voice."
The 9pm ET premiere garnered 10.9 million viewers and a 7.4 HH rating making it the highest rated episode in series history, and growing more than 50% over last season's premiere. The season 3 premiere now reigns as the biggest telecast for any drama series in basic cable history among all viewers. "The Walking Dead" encored at 10pm with 3.5 million viewers and midnight with 850,000 viewers delivering 15.2 million viewers for the night.
In an uncertain world, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his band of survivors must not only fight the dead, but also face a whole new fear: the living.
Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, The Walking Dead stars Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson, IronE Singleton, Melissa McBride, David Morrissey and Danai Gurira. In the wake of tonight's bloody episode of The Walking Dead season 3, AMC has released a teaser clip for episode 3, "Walk With Me." After witnessing an accident, Andrea and Michonne are introduced to a new community of survivors. As conflicts arise with their new acquaintances, a decision must be made. In the clip you'll find inside, Andrea and Michonne find a plume of smoke on the horizon.
AMC has released the first clip from episode 4 of The Walking Dead season 3, entitled "Killer Within." In this chapter, the group is severed and lives are put in jeopardy. In Woodbury, Merle has a request for the Governor. As for the clip, the gang pokes fun at Glenn and Maggie for spending too much time in the guard tower. Look for the new episode to air next Sunday.
